Amazing! First one lasted 8 years. Just bought my second!
My Experience: (Pros and Cons at the end) I love this little beast! I bought this back in 2010 to keep my old PC tower from overheating. Worked like a charm. A couple years later got my self a MacBook Pro for video editing which of course really gets the computer hot and results in thermal throttling and makes your renders take forever! This little guy was with me literally every day for the past 5 years. Every time I was rendering, exporting or doing anything CPU intensive I just plugged this dude in and let it blow across the keyboard and it would keep my machine breezy and cool. Not to mention it also keeps the finger sweat down too! Last month, sadly, it bit the dust. Not the motor, not the frame. The wire finally ripped off the knob after almost 8 years of abuse and throwing it in a travel pack, laptop bag or camera bag and several countries. I immediately ran to Amazon to re-order. If this one lasts half as long as the last, I'll be beyond happy and will be ordering this for as long as I need a fan.Pros:Long Cable that retracts nicely for storage.Sturdy frame and feet, perfect height for laptops.Quiet. Even at max speed.Fan speed control knob. Great variation.Moves a surprising amount of air at max speed.Works with any standard USB connection. Even wall chargers.Small and compact.Lasts forever!Cons: I had to think hard about this. Not so much a con, more of a wish.Adjustable feet for aiming the fan up and down. The frame is bendable so you can kind of do this.Prettier would be nice.Rubber feet. When this thing is at max speed it has a tendency (on smooth surfaces) to move out of position over time.LED's would be sweet! It can't do your taxes.

Built to last!
I bought this thing in August of 2012, and it's still going strong today. I purchased it for a laptop that isn't great at keeping itself cool, and so far that laptop is still alive too which to me is another feather in this little fan's cap. I prop the back of the laptop up a little bit and have this thing blowing across the exhaust vent from the cpu fan, just pushing the very warm air away from the outside and bottom of the case. The analog speed control is very good, and the fan can be adjusted from spinning so slowly that it isn't really moving any air to top speed and all points in between. I typically use it around half speed, unless I'm doing something I know is going to be cpu-intensive like running a game. Even dialed down it moves plenty of air. At top speed the fan makes an audible whirring noise, but nothing a little extra volume or headphones won't cure. The extendable usb cable even still works and retracts all the way. I definitely got my money's worth out of this thing.

Bought Two. They've lasted 12 years of mostly continuous operation at highest setting
USB Operation. Plug it into your computer and if you shut down computer, so does fan. Otherwise it's on 24/7. Very quiet even at highest speed.I just took them apart to get twelve years of dust buildup on blades and intake screen ( 5metal concentric rings connected to metal bars for the framing screws). It also had dust buildup on the internal plastic parts. Now they are as good as new, and I'm hoping for another 12 years. (I did just order a dirt filter to affix to the intake side). I just found out from reading another review here, I can use a little 5-12 Watt USB to AC power box to drive these. That may free up some USB ports on my system.I wish they'd make these again.

Works great in entertainment center
Been using this fan for almost 10 years in my entertainment center to keep my receiver cool. There is not a lot of room for everything and I wanted something to keep air circulating. I can plug the fan into the usb port on the back of my receiver so it only runs when the receiver is on and stops when the receiver is turned off. On high there is a little noise but nothing you can hear over the TV sound unless maybe it's a very quiet scene, but even then it's negligible.

Pretty noisy
I have been searching for a desktop small USB fan that is quite enough to use without irritation. I had a tried a few hand operated ones and all were noisy enough to be annoying. Based on reviews, I thought this one might be the answer even though it has no battery and is otherwise less user friendly (more utilitarian).Sadly, it hardly moves any air at the lower speeds where noise is somewhat controlled and it is way too noisy at higher rpm's with a high pitch sound that is very hard not to notice. It also appears cheaply made with an uneven base that rattles. Disappointed overall. The search for a reasonable desktop fan will continue.

Very, very quiet....
Bought this to cool my Denon amplifier. This is the only one I could find that had a usb connection. Postage seemed a bit high, +£13, but it was the only one.Delivered within a few days and I noted it had come from US! You can use it, as intended, by standing it upright. However, I needed it to lie face down to blow air into the top of the amp. First I stuck one of those floor protectors that you stick to the bottom of chair legs, to the face, this acts as a cushion and ensures quiet running. There is a speed adjustment knob, I turn it to minimum, plugged it into my nearby desktop, laid it face down at the front of the amp and hey presto it works. Its almost completely silent. There is no vibration whatsoever, so no movement. Even on slow speed it works fine and keeps my amp very cool.Yes I paid about £30, but I consider this an absolute bargain. I will buy another for my Onkyo NR609 and this really needs to be cooled!Great product. Oh, nearly forgot the usb cable spool is about 4 feet long and comes on a neat little reel which you can pull out very easiy. The cable, if you can call it that, is ribbon like. Perfect design. Fabulous!

Works well for cooling my PS4
I got this to help ventilate my PS4 which lives in a mostly enclosed AV cabinet. It plugs into the front PS4 USB and runs when the console is on or in standby mode. I don't need it running at full speed, so having the fan speed adjustor is useful. My AV cabinet has slits in the front, so the fan blows out through them. I have the console on a cheap IKEA shelf and have used the fans stand to mount it upside-down below the PS4. It successfully has brought the temperature of my PS4 down while the cabinet door is closed. My only complaint would be it's a little noisy even at low RPMs.

Yeast Starter Stirplate - the perfect base for a DIY stirplate
I bought this fan with no intention of using it to cool me down. With some tinkering and swapping of screws and following of google I repurposed this fan to be a stir plate for creating yeast starters. And I must say it works fantastically. I'm certain I have voided the warranty. Want to create a simple and cheap to make speed controlled stirplate then this is what you need! 5*

... and with a few vent holes this is a great little fan system especially with the variable speed control
I was building a PC into a desk drawer and with a few vent holes this is a great little fan system especially with the variable speed control. Seems well made and works great.

Quite powerful for its size I guess but not really ...
Quite powerful for its size I guess but not really that effective. The fan adjustability is kinda pointless in my opinion.
