Excellent fit, sound, and connectivity
Exceptional headphones. Right out of the box, the product looks and feels to be quite high quality. The cable is quite a thicker and less flexible than most headphones I’ve every used, which works great to prevent tangling. The fit on these headphones is fantastic, probably the best I’ve ever experienced with earbuds. They have a very in depth guide on how to correctly size put the earbuds in within the app, and in minutes I had found the right size fins and tips. I use the comply tips included, which feel very nice (no ear fatigue after over 3 hours of wear). These earbuds also stay in exceptional well. Shaking my head rather violently neither ear bud budged; both remained as snug as when I first put them on. Even lightly tugging on the cable, the ear buds stayed in place. The sound quality on these are incredibly customizable. The astounding amounts of presets made by Jaybird and the community (as well as the ability to crest your own profile) allows you to customize the sound quite extensively for any type of audio.I haven’t had the opportunity to experiment extensively with the connectivity, but my experience thus far has been excellent. I have had no stuttering or lapses in audio, even when leaving my phone on the counter and walking a good 15 feet behind a wall. These headphones are fantastic, and well wearth the price. Strongly recommend to anyone.

A headphone designed for the customer
Absolutely love these. I did a ton of research and kept seeing these pop up on "best of" lists so decided to give them a try. The red is great and just looks good. They come with a wide range of customization options with 3 sizes of fins (which are optional if you just want to wear them as buds), 3 sizes of regular ear pieces and even a second set of 3 sizes of foam earpieces. All and all if you don't find a right combo that feels good then headphones in general may not be for you. They fit securely and sound great. They have a great amount of bass out of the box but if that isn't enough you can adjust the headphone with the app to suite your taste. For in ear headphones they sound terrific. The cord comes with a clip so you can adjust the length and they can be adjusted to be worn over the ear if that's your preference. Outside noise is muffled nicely, especially with the foam ear pieces in use. I haven't owned a pair of jaybird's before as I've always bought out of the Sony extra bass series. I still love my Sony over ears, but these are fantastic for activities like the gym or walking the pups.

Died after 1 week of workout use.
I bought these X3 earbuds to replace a Jaybird X2 that I was previously happy with, but died after 2 years of heavy use, and I have to say that this new version is a piece of garbage in comparison. After only 1 week of regular use during runs and workouts, this pair of headphones just stopped turning on and became unusable. I tried the manufacturer's troubleshooting tips for how to reset the unit, but nothing worked... the lights indicated that the unit was charging, but once unplugged it was completely unresponsive. This is completely unacceptable for a premium electronics product! The Good: While it was working, I'll admit that the sound was improved from the X2 through the addition of a new Jaybird app that you could use to set equalizer settings and tweak the sound just the way you want, including using presets created by other users. I also like that they included Comply foam tips in addition to the regular rubber ones that came with previous models. The Bad: Aside from the HUGE deal breaker of dying after only 1 week, my other big complaint is the new proprietary connector for charging these earbuds. With the X1 and X2, you could just plug any standard USB micro cable into the earbud port in order to charge it, which made it very flexible to charge it at home, work, or in the car using a common cable you could find at most stores. This one still uses USB micro, but now plugged into this little flat connector that you dock the volume up/down dongle into. Sure, you can unplug that connector and take it on the go, but I'd rather not do that since it is very small and potentially easy to lose. In my opinion, not a very good design. I speculate that having those exposed power connectors on a supposedly sweatproof device is probably what killed the unit.I am returning these terrible, defective headphones to Amazon for a full refund. Jaybird really dropped the ball on this one and I am very disappointed after having owned both the X1 and X2 models. It's time for me to give up on Jaybird and give another bluetooth earbud manufacturer a shot!
