My son love this backpack but it’s too costly

Purchased this backpack for my child because I love Bentgo products. We have several models of their lunch boxes as well. The construction of the backpack is solid. My child really enjoyed having two zippers in the main compartment so we were disappointed when one of those broke after about a year of normal use. I contacted Bentgo customer service about this issue and they quickly reached out to let me know that they will be sending me a new backpack. Highly recommend Bentgo, as they stand behind their products. I'll update this review if anything changes.

Before i say anything negative which isn't even the back packs fault, this is a great back pack. We have been using for 2 years now and it's still great. We will be reusing again for this upcoming school year. So 3 years of use! Totally worth the cost in my opinion. Plus it's not from the same store all the other kids parents go to so my child usually is the only one with this print and style so no mix ups!So main issue is depending on your child school the lunch box part isn't useful. My kids school immediately puts lunch boxes separate from back packs. So my child's lunch wasn't stored correctly because they removed it from the insulated part of the backpack.It also may not fit everything a preschooler needs, like blanket and pillow which is only an issue if your child's school like mine sends it home every single week. I don't think all schools do that though.

My granddaughter loves this bag so much! I had to buy her a separate (matching) lunch box, which we also love! She uses the bottom section of the backpack to protect items that don’t need to be in the main section. Using the bottom as a lunchbox does not work well.This brand is a little pricey, but well-made and really cute, so I am very happy with my purchase!

Pros:- Kid only has to manage one bag/item. If your kid is prone to losing lunchboxes, this is great!- Kid likes it.- water bottle holder actually fits normal/adult sized water bottles, and is adjustable so it cinches to keep any size in place.- Cooler is actually decent and with a good ice pack it keeps things cold all day.Cons:- The cooler area is smaller than I'd like - I can fit the bentgo box, ice pack, and juice box in there, not much room for snacks.- It's annoying to have to keep lunch/snacks in the fridge and pack the bag in the morning - when he had a separate lunch box I could pack it all the night before and just keep the lunch box in the fridge overnight and grab it on the way out. This is the thing I didn't think about, and recommend considering before buying. If you are fine with not being able to pre-pack, then it's a great bag!

I bought 2 of these bags about a year ago now, one is going strong, and the other sadly split between the backpack and the separate insulated area for the lunchbox.I was upset. But then I contacted Bentgo's customer service team, and was blown away by how helpful and efficient they were. 3 days later, a brand new replacement arrived under warranty. When Bentgo say they'll cover it under warranty, they really mean it!Stuff happens, but these bags are fantastic!- There's enough room for their books/folders etc- There's a roomy front pocket- Drawstring waterbottle holder that you can adjust to ensure the bottles stay in- And the insulated lunch compartment is just fantastic!Overall, I'm super happy with these backpacks, AND with Bentgo's awesome customer service!
