Is there any way to calibrate this? Have it on my patioand it is at least 10 degrees off.

Mine was also 10 degrees off. I used a small screwdriver (for a sewing machine) to turn the tiny brass screw in the center coil on the back of thermometer to adjust to correct temp. Hope this helps you.

The description says this is weatherproof. is it?? (the last lacrosse i bought said weather resistant & mold developed on the dial face.)

I don't know if it is weatherproof or not but the one I got has the spring coil exposed to the weather if it's not mounted on a flat surface. I'm thinking the coil spring will rust over time and may not have accurate readings anymore. I could be all wrong. Maybe I just got a unfinished one. I like the size and it is easy to read from the distance I got it at. The temp reading is accurate with my other ones that I own.
