Have you ever felt too small to do a really big job? That's what a little shepherd boy named Dave feels when his big brothers head off to defend their country, leaving Dave behind with the sheep. "Big people do big things, and little people do little things,"they tell him. They're in for a surprise, however, when they find out their foe is much bigger than they thought! This telling of the classic biblical story of David and Goliath teaches kids that "with God, all things are possible." It makes no difference whether you're 9-feet tall or 2-feet tall -- with God's help, even little guys can do big things!

Love the inside jokes
Watch enough Veggie Tales and you start seeing recurring images or hearing references to a former episode. We have had fun creating trivia games that need recollection of details from across the collection of videos. Dave and the Giant Pickle is one of those episodes that contains some of those quirky details which just increases my admiration for the sense of humor the creators of these clever films share. My opinion is that the creators are at their best when they are delighting children (and their parents and older siblings) with bible stories and Dave and the Giant Pickle, telling the story of David and his fight with Goliath, does this successfully. My family is looking forward to sitting with this movie and many others for a Veggie Tales marathon day. You better believe all nine of us will be singing each and every song!

Another great movie from VeggieTales
This movie is just awesome. It teaches children that you don't have to be big and strong to be able to knock out a giant pickle. You just have to know how to use a slingshot. Without hands. Dave was awesome in this movie, and that silly ol' giant pickle? Well, let's just say that (spoiler alert!) he's kaput! I also liked that one part in the middle; I don't want to give it away, but trust me, it was AWESOME.

David and Goliath
This is a sweet retelling of David and Goliath. It diverges from scripture in many ways, but keeps the lesson behind the true Biblical account of King David, as a child, slaying a formidable enemy of God's people. I recommend almost all of the older style VeggieTales. I do not recommend the newer style VeggieTales (you'll know them by the visual changes to the characters on the cover of the new DVDs). I also do not recommend Veggies in the House, the Netflix production.

Great spanish dvd
My kids love this video, as is typical with Veggie Tales in our household :) We love that VT offers this in spanish because we are raising our kids bilingual and this helps to reinforce what we teach them. Our son has been speaking more spanish since he started watching this dvd. We also bought Gideon in spanish.

Like "Who will fight me
This is an oldie but a goodie. My older kids will talk along with the characters saying the lines as they say them. We have even had a few times when someone was some where else and quoted a line from it. Like "Who will fight me?" or "I prefer to be just plain ole me!" Everyone in our house loves this one.

Veggie tales always have good lessons for my children
Veggie tales always have good lessons for my children. I wish Amazon had more of them on Prime. My kids watch them over and over and over. I (44 years old) even have my favorites to watch. The best thing I see as a parent it's the lessons that are taught and they teach how to apply them to their own lives.

Pleased with Veggie Tales.
I am happy with Amazon, the DVD was here the day before the estimated time!Re: content, Veggie Tales does such a good job of relating values of the Christian life in a fun way for children that adults watching the DVD can learn, too. I'm purchasing a number of Veggie Tales for our grandson who is as yet, not growing up in a Christian home.
