The Best Multi-Purpose Epoxy Out There — If You Use It Right
I've used JB Weld's ClearWeld for years, and it's never failed me. I've yet to find anything I could not fix with it. I've repaired and glued together: ceramics, plastics, wood panels, metal brackets, rubber, cloth and fibrous materials. I've also attached many of those items to one another with ClearWeld. Is there any material ClearWeld won't stick together? Maybe, but I have yet to have that happen. The most recent item I repaired were my eyeglasses. The left-side hinge had broken and there was no way to replace it — short of buying another set of frames. To fix them, I applied a thin layer of ClearWeld and held the frame hinge and its temple (the arm) together for a couple of minutes. After it setup, I let it sit for a few hours. When I came back, I was surprised to see that I could flex the eyeglasses without the frames separating at the hinge point. A $6 tube of ClearWeld, saved me the cost of a new set of frames. What Issues Does It Have?1. If you used too much, it takes a longer to cure.2. It does smell a bit. However, the smell doesn't bother me.3. A few customers have had the syringes leak during shipping. I've never had that happen.4. A few times, I've had more of the two-part epoxy come out of one side of the syringe than the other. It usually happens with a new syringe because one side binds up a bit as you're pushing on the handle. If that happens to you, just scrape away the excess to keep the mix ratio at 1 to 1.For me, ClearWeld has always dried hard. It's not rubbery when mixed properly.HINTS:A 45 degree, counter-clockwise turn and pull on the gray knob opens the syringe. CAUTION: Sometimes, the epoxy will be under some pressure, due to heat, (if it's summer time) and some of it might ooze out of the syringe — so be prepared to catch the excess with a paper towel. If you're going to be doing a big job and using lots of ClearWeld, do it outside. As the smell can be irritating to some people. Plus, the smell sticks around a lot longer.Do not over apply ClearWeld — use just enough to get the job done. ClearWeld bonds and works best when it's applied in a thin layer. That's what I did when I recently attached four hard rubber feet to the casing of a 2000 watt inverter. The aluminum housing had been anodized, and I wasn't sure if ClearWeld would bond the feet to the smooth surface. But it did! (I thought about drilling holes into the casing to mount the feet but didn't want to risk damaging the inverter.) After applying ClearWeld, I put some lead weights on the feet and let them dry overnight. The next day, I tried but was unable to pull any of them off with my fingers.ClearWeld is my go-to cure for fixing anything that's broken, has come apart or that I want to stick together. I highly recommend it.

Amazing!
I did not expect this to work as good as it did if I'm being completely honest. My tire has a decorative metal piece that has always made a clinking sound when I drive because it's loose compared to the other three tires. I used a tiny Dot from each side of the tube mixed it up and applied it with a q-tip to the metal piece to hold it down. I made sure it set in the right spot for the first five to eight minutes. It says it cures in an hour which is great because it rained about an hour and a half later. The next morning when I drove I didn't hear a single clink on my way to work. I love it.10 out of 10

Magic Glue
Incredible product. I've used the black and the clear. Both are easy to apply, easy to store, clear instructions, tough as nails. I will always go to JB for any adhesives from now on.

Good Glue; Questionable Syringe Applicator in Execution of Design.
I usually use JB Weld epoxy and have been happy. Hence, 4/5 stars. In this particular case, it's more like a 3/5 stars because the syringe applicator needs a more substantial holder. I bought this one with the syringe mixer/applicator because I needed to avoid a mess when applying it to repair furniture grade finished surfaces. I have used this JB Weld syringe before (automotive black version) with good results. However, the syringe is held in place by two small plastic pieces. The syringe attaches in what could be called a bayonet or slotted mount. I was careful when opening the tube and in attaching the syringe in place. It was hard to align, so I made sure I had completely removed the break open top. However, one of the two plastic pieces that seat the syringe broke off when I tried to attach the syringe. I tried to reset the syringe with some success. Nothing was in the way. (I rechecked for any plastic the did not come off when I broke the seal.) It was still difficult to properly line up. I had to use needle nose plyers. As a result of the poor connection, one of the two compounds leaked and ran down the side of the applicator. I tried to compensate for this as it dripped, trying to avoid a mess and get a 50/50 mix. I then took a small instrument to remix the compounds in place. (This was what I was trying to avoid in the first place.) I did not make a mess. Nonetheless, it did not set in 5 minutes and overall, the epoxy took 3 days to cure. As a result of the leak, I was also not able to get the epoxy mix in certain places, which left a noticeable gap. This issue has not happened in the past. Maybe it will never happen again. I do recommend JB Weld implement a more substantial mount for the syringe.

Great to keep handy
Purchased this hoping that it would be sufficient for me to fix the hinge on our veggie chopper. I was hesitant that it wouldn't be sufficient and capable of holding up to the pressure of chopping some veggies but so far it's held and been reliable. IT was very easy to use and apply to the product. The product has maintained all of it's funcitonality and that's the most important thing to me. Great to have some of this around the house!

Proceed with Caution – Not Food-Safe as Advertised
I decided to give the J-B Weld ClearWeld 5 Minute Set Epoxy Syringe a try after reading some information that suggested it was food-grade, which seemed ideal for a quick fix on a glass piece I use for drinking. Unfortunately, I quickly learned that this product is not, in fact, safe for use with items that come in contact with food or drink. After applying it, I realized it wasn’t as advertised, and now I’m left with a $100 glass piece that I have to toss, not to mention the six bucks I spent on the epoxy. While the product is undoubtedly strong and bonds well for other non-food-related repairs, I wouldn’t recommend using it for anything that touches food or beverages. I had to learn this the hard way, and I hope others don’t make the same mistake. It’s a decent product for some repairs, but just be careful where you use it. For food-related fixes, look elsewhere!
