Changed phones to make it work. Works well. Inexpensive.
I'm in the process of scanning our family photos and negatives which are mainly 110 and 135 format. In the process, I found some medium format negatives that I needed to scan. I have a small number of images, maybe a dozen or so rolls, so didn't want to buy an inexpensive scanner for a small short-term project. The Kodak 6x6 mobile scanner looked like it would fit the bill. I read reviews indicating that the iPhone 14 had difficulty scanning images. I have an iPhone 13, so thought I would give it a try. Unfortunately, the images were blurry, so I was getting ready to send it back. That's when my wife suggested I try her phone, an iPhone SE. Great idea: it worked! That's the reason I wrote this review. If your late model iPhone doesn't work, see if you can borrow another phone or use an out-of-service phone.I gave this a 5-star review because the Kodak 6x6 is an excellent inexpensive option for scanning a small number of medium format negatives so that you don't have to buy a much more expensive scanner. Low tech, but it does the job!

Good product for scanning old negatives
This review is after scanning a dozen black & white 220 negatives.Assembly is pretty straight forward. I had to hunt for a pair of AAA batteries to go into the base. I recommend putting the sides into the base before trying to fit the top piece - the instructions have those steps in the other order.I have an iPhone 12 - it isn't obvious where to put it over the hole on top - move it around until you get an image. When you are taking a picture, be sure to tap the screen to trigger the focus. Some other reviews seem to mention focus as a problem and this step may be the problem. If the negative is not flat on the base - look again for the slots on either side to help hold it down and flat. The app is easy to find on the store and easy to use. I adjusted exposure & contrast on every one - it should remember that between photos. After snapping a picture, be sure to slide the icons at the bottom left & right to find all of the controls. I got through several before I noticed you could align and crop directly in the app. The others I did in the Photos app instead.Pretty quick to use overall and some of the images look GREAT - I obviously didn't hold the camera still when taking others and they look like a young child took them over 50 years ago.

So simple and works great.
I have become keeper of my old family slides and I wanted to be able to share them and get some help identifying people in the photos while the older generation could still help.! I had some large ones that were going to cost me quite a bit to have scanned through the local Camera shop. They were going to have to send them out and it was going to take weeks. They suggested that I could just used my flatbed scanner. Well, that didn’t work. I think the cardboard frame around the slide cased them to sit just slightly above the scanner bed and they were all out of focus. So I ordered this and spent about an hour digitizing about 20 slides. Worked great! It was a great way to get family talking!

Truely a piece of useless junk.
I bought one of these toys (It is little more than a toy) with hopes of bringing the photos back to life. Nope. Quality is poor, set up is iffy, and the whole thing was a waste of money. There is no way to flatten the negative or to adjust the distance from the camera (iPhone) to the surface of the negative.

Preserving memories at a reduced price.
Though purchased as a new item, the product was slightly used and damaged. The top would not seat properly to the vertical support, which needed to be reinforced with a paperclip to give proper support. The LED toggle switch does not alway provide full power, needing coaxing in order for maximum light output. Aside from that, the guide rails are a bit too large, cutting off the borders of negatives. A swappable mount would have been nice to allow for slightly larger negatives. All that said, I was pleased with the eventual result, allowing old family memories to be quickly scanned, edited, and shared. Even with the minor issues, this product saved me a lot of time and money that would have gone to professional scanning services.

Such a simple device but not simple
I have used the Kodak Scanza for multiple formats of slides and negatives. For that device, I even had a 3-d insert for disc negatives made by someone on Etsy. All good. This 6x6 scanner for 120/220 format negatives is essentially no technology and should work in a snap. But with an iPhone 15 the backlit negative is but a faint outline. Kodak support was completely clueless -- clearly had never used the device. My eventual work-around: revive my super old iPhone 6 from a drawer. Lower quality camera but at least it can capture the image to the manipulate.

Simple and Practical
This is a portable scanner, a simple way of producing your negatives using your smartphone. I’ve seen some reviews saying it's cheap material, no..this is not a cheap material, crap product. This is a simple way of scanning your negatives at home. Kodak made a good job with this kit including the lights, card structure and gloves. I really enjoyed spending the afternoon scanning my old negatives!! Kodak app runs well on Iphone 12, I saved the pics and post produced with iPhone editor!

It works
Somewhat delicate item but it works. The cellar app does not work properly. I take the photo (scan) and then via Bluetooth I send it to Cortel Paintshop for finishing. Anyway for its price, GREAT!
