Questionable for 14 series.
This actually is a valve. But no real adjustment for temp. If you move the disk to adjust the temp you then have effected the off on position as that screw makes contact with the temp adjustment. Your option then is fiddling with the lever trying to stop a drip. Didn’t look like original nor work as good.

direct replacement for Delta but yes it is a bit less quality but still a good buy.
I got an OEM Delta valve two years ago and it started to drip so I figured if I'm only going to get two years out of a valve body I might as well try and save some money. This valve is the same as the delta but does feel that they save a bit of money on the thickness of the plastic body. However, it fits like OEM, turns on and off like OEM, and is adjustable like the Delta OEM. The plastic body should get very little wear as the majority of it is inside the metal shower body housing. As long as the rubber seals are of good quality I think you should expect about the same life as a Delta OEM valve. I will update my review if I get premature failure. I also agree that from the factor the hot side limit screw is set way low and I had to back it out a good bit to get the hot water temp I was looking for but it is an easy adjustment with an Allen key.

Fast & Easy Install With a Little Experience
Had only one problem while installing this valve. The stem for the knob was just the tiniest bit bigger than the slot on the knob so I had to use my drill to slightly enlarge the slot in the knob. I highly recommend not trying to force it because I have little doubt the plastic would break.Other than that it was problem free. I highly recommend having a medium sized pipe wrench on hand to loosen the brass fitting that holds the valve in place. I first tried using large channel locks but in all fairness the valve I was working on was installed in 2004 so yours might not be quite so obstinate. Also a water meter wrench is handy to have but you might be able to turn off your meter without one if you don't mind lying on your stomach and reaching in with a crescent wrench. Time from start to finish was a little less than 30 minutes. All in all an excellent value.

Poor quality
I have to echo what another poor review wrote: you get what you pay for. I did manage to replace the original cartridge fairly easily, but I found I couldn't get the heat limiter up as high as the old one had been. It was good enough, so I accepted it.Fast forward two months, and my daughter is using the shower. She isn't very big, maybe 90 lbs, and she leans on the handle after she has turned it off. There is a pop inside the cartridge and now the handle spins freely and it is really hard to turn it off. Something broke in the limiter, and it won't reset. I've fiddled with it, but nothing I do prevents it from going past the turn off position and starting up again.I'll be getting a genuine Delta part to install this time.

Does not fit
Don't waste your money and time on this knock off product. I took a chance on this to save some bucks, despite the negative reviews I read on Amazon. And I wish I had taken their advice and stayed away from this knock off item. Not only the lower body won't fit the copper valve, it did not fix the leaking issue. Total waste of my time and money! Spend the extra few bucks and get the OEM replacement. I will be returning this right away, very disappointing.

Danco Failed Cartridge
Ordered two valves, one failed on 1st day of installation. Seller replaced with new valve. The second valve failed a week later. Now I placed an order for original Delta manufacture cartridge valve to replace the new Danco valve. The units did not meet my expectations. My expectations was for the valves to work as intended. Issue is that the valve is supposed to turn 1/4 for on and off, but they turn 360. This caused my 9 year old child to burn her feet not knowing that she went too far turning off the shower. Shower will turn on and off as you rotate the handle past the original shut off point.

Will purchase the Delta brand next time, if needed
Received the item, same as the old one. Installed it and worked a couple of times, then you could rotate the shower/tub handle 270 degrees. The temp setting disc would not stay in position. I fiddled with it some more, and finally dissembled the new valve, took the springs and rubber seats and outer "O" -ring and installed on the old valve. Old valve works great and handle has a sweep of approx. 120 degrees. No more drips. If does need replacement later, I will purchase a Delta brand part.

Second failed unit
Purchased end of Dec 2020 and today, April 18th, I find myself replacing this for a second time. Only this time I am replacing it with the Delta OEM model. Like most of you DIY folks, I’m always happy to try a low tech alternative to the costly OEM original. This DANCO product is a pain to instal and even more difficult to get out four months later. Very tight fit ....and I mean tight. The valve handle began rotating a full 360 last month and the temp set screw is not explained very well in the documentation. Further, there is no supporting manufacturers Video on YT, or non that I could find. Get the OEM version, fits like a glove, excellent hand dial for temp setting and maintains the water temperature efficiently. Like me you probably won’t, but I guarantee you will be changing it for the OEM version in six months.

does the job.
A bit flimsier than OEM but it does work. Comparing the original and new valve side by side, you could tell that the OEM plastic is of better quality but the OEM part was not in stock. I gave it a 3 star because it wasn't that much cheaper then the OEM part and if I had the choice, I would have spent the extra few dollars for a factory part. This part does work but I question how long it would last in comparison to the original equipment? Update, only lasted 6 months!

Needs some tinkering but a decent budget fix.
It fit my older Delta shower faucet perfectly. Main issue is the screw and plastic plate serve to control the temperature by having a maximum temperature and to stop the tap for shutting it off, but it doesn't work for both. I could either set it as a temperature control and manually adjust the water to stay off, or I could set it as a stop for shutting the water off but then the water would only be lukewarm. Definitely not as good as the genuine Delta cartridge but I couldn't track down the genuine one without a ridiculous price tag. In the end I made it work but my plumber brother was not impressed by the quality. Some tinkering but an adequate budget fix.

Seems to have some flaws.
I bought it to replace a delta cartridge. At first glance they look identical but these one seem to have some flaws. The two small tubes are smaller than the original and it would the whole thing would just not stop the water no matter what. So Instead I replace the rubber bands from the original with the ones from this, that fixed the leak and I threw the rest in the garbage.

Make sure you install the right way
Make sure you look which side is hot and you set how hot the water can get. Very easy to adjust. If you put it the wrong way you will first get hot water and could scald yourself as you would be limiting the cold water. It seems well built and only time will tell how long it lasts.

Saving a Buck Will Cost You Down the Road
I thought I’d save a few bucks by buying this instead of the Delta part. Bad decision. The build quality was very flimsy compared to the Delta one which lasted many years. While calibrating the temperature I could not get it as hot as the second shower head unless I adjusted it to the point that the water would never fully turned off. I lived with it fir a few weeks even though it was annoying. One day I bumped the shower handle with my elbow and the handle now spun freely, making it hard to get the water fully shut off. After a bunch of fiddling, I got it working, but it felt even more flimsy. It was very difficult to remove when I decided to replace it with the old, drippy one. By the time I had it removed, it was in pieces. I have now ordered the Delta part.
