Good, no worry protection
I bought this as a backup to my current Lifeproof case since Lifeproof does not sell them for the 4s on their site anymore and I plan to hang on to my 4s even after I upgrade to a newer product. This appears to be a genuine Lifeproof box, says Lifeproof on the back of the case (unlike the knockoff I previously used for two years) and came with the cleaning cloth that also says Lifeproof and the headphone jack modifier. The case passed the water test so I am happy that when the current case fails, which they all do, this will be a good replacement. I bought the pink one, not really my colour, but with a skin on it will hardly be pink at all. As for sound, I use bluetooth exclusively since I hate having to hold anything to my ear (hands free rules, people!) but even when I forget to pair and have to answer a call the old-fashioned way, the sound is good and I seem to be heard easily. The big complaint seems to be the difficulty engaging the mute/not mute button. It is not one I use much, I would just remove my bluetooth headset and pocket it but it is good, I think that it does not get pushed inadvertently. For me it is all about impact protection and environment protection.Don't know what all the fuss is about. If you want to really protect your 4s, this is the case to use. Even the knockoffs can be good as I can attest. Just test first. I suspect that they all come from the same place and some just don't come out of the mold with a good enough fit to make them waterproof. I bought two cheap ones and one worked for two years. When it broke the second did not pass the submerged in water test so I went to the old genuine Lifeproof case that came with the phone when I bought it used. Whatever, it is good to have a backup.

works well
I bought this to work with my old iphone 4s to leverage some of the iphone apps when i cycle - specifically strava maps and music. I like to drive to the country and go and get lost while riding, so having a map in front is pretty beneficial. Of course, I could have spent a lot more on a garmin or bike computer, but having an old 4s kicking around, and a relatively cheap price on a waterproof case and bike mount, I figured why not. Plus, I get to load about 10G of music so I feel like I'm not completely alone. My bike mount is the lifeproof bike mount LifeProof iPhone 4/4s Bike Mount - Black (Discontinued by Manufacturer) which mounts nice and tidy on my Cannondale.I have only been caught in light rains, so the waterproof has hardly been tested. I really just wanted something to make it 'more or less' waterproof if I were caught in a quick down pour.

Works great
Got this for an old iPhone 4s that our daughter uses for games. We figured she’d be kinda rough with it so we wanted something waterproof and durable. This was definitely a good choice. Easy to put on, sealed completely. We’ve had it for a couple months now and it doesn’t have a scratch on it, even after heavy use by a 7 year old. The charging port is easy for her to open and plug in the phone. The screw attachment for the headphone jack is easy to take in and out and due to the case being waterproof, standard headphone jacks won’t fit down inside the phones jack by itself, so they made sure to send a fancy little headphone jack extender with it with an extra screw attachment. Overall, we’re very happy with the case.

It's not a real LifeProof Case
I was following the steps to see if this case worked and thankfully I did that. Water immediately came in through the camera lens area. When I called LifeProof about it, they asked me a few questions which identified that this case is a counterfeit case and not their true product. I won't reveal what the questions were as I don't want to give any information to the counterfeiters to help them make the product harder to identify. Suffice it to say, I'm thankful I tested the case before putting my phone in it as it would not have protected my phone at all! So, the questions remain…does the seller know they have a counterfeit product that they are selling or are they a victim as well? The LifeProof representative suggested I return the item where I purchased it or contact my credit card company and report it as a fraudulent purchase.I contacted Amazon about this product to return it. In actuality, I'm 2 weeks too late to get a refund. But when I explained the situation to the representative, she put me on hold to see what she could do and came back with authorization to return the item and get a complete refund on it. While it is concerning that Amazon has no way of knowing if their sellers are offering legitimate products or not, I am very satisfied knowing that they allowed my return even after their expiration date for return as stated on my order. They have provided me with a return label so there is no cost to me for my return. Basically both Amazon and I got hosed on this one (and potentially the seller if they didn't know they had a counterfeit product). Kudos to Amazon for representing their company well and doing the right thing by me!
