Works well
Have had this for over a year now and living in Florida this really helps the HVAC do its job more efficiently.Typically I use it 8 to 10 hours a day in the summer months on low and it effectively reduces humidity levels by 10 to 15% which is quite noticeable.

Wish I bought something else. The good and the bad.
Update to 1 star: Dehumidifier ices over and doesn't actually dehumidify now. The product comes with a 1 year warranty and this happened a couple weeks after the warranty expired. This means the product last about 4 months of off and on usage before it died and now I have to replace it.The dehumidifier itself work's well at dehumidifying, but unfortunately there are some really frustrating features that make me wish I had purchased something else. The first issue I have is that it seems the humidity levels can only be adjusted in 5% increments. If you want to set your humidity level at something like 48 you cannot. The second issue is with notifications. One of my primary requirements was notifications being sent when the tank is full. This does work as long as you're logged into the SmartHQ app but the problem is that it automatically logs you out from time to time and notification stop working. If you're not manually opening the app to make sure you're logged in all the time, you will miss getting notified when the tank is full. Not okay. The third problem is that it seems to allow a large range of humidity when in smart auto mode. If I set it for 45 it will allow humidity to hit 55 before it turns on and then it brings it down to 45. Rinse and repeat. I'd be OK if the range was 3 or 5% before it turned on but 10 is too large of a gap.I also don't like the color and wish it came in white, but that is subjective. There are good things though. It works well at actually dehumidifying. It includes an energy usage monitor. The tank is large. I can live with it, but I'd probably try something else if I wasn't past the return window.

Excellent for our Basement
This was purchased to help the moisture level in our 300-square-foot basement be maintained. I found that during the summer months, the basement not only smelled funky, but the carpet started to feel moist. I have two of these in the basement because we have a window near the ceiling and wanted to ensure moisture wasn't coming through the window. I've been pleased with it. It's very easy to set up and the tank holds quite a bit of water before needing to be emptied.

Works well except for the Wi-Fi
I got this to use in a basement storage room that can only be accessed by going outside. That's why I was interested in the Wi-Fi feature. I couldn't get it to connect using the GE app (despite a strong router signal), and the directions suggest calling the help line if that happens. Instead I looked for solutions online and found that a common issue is that it will fail to connect if a 5G signal is present. Since my router has both 5G and 2.4G and neither can be disabled, I wasn't able to get it working. Maybe a lengthy phone call with the help desk would point me in the right direction, but I'm not interested in going through that process. In this day and age of easy connectivity, this product seems like an electronic relic! With that said, it does work fine as a dehumidifier, and seems to be doing the job while running less than my previous unit. So I only knocked off one star for the connectivity issue even though I paid for that feature.

Workhorse!
We have a 1200 sq ft unfinished basement. We had issues with mold and water pooling. We remediated them but we live in GA where it’s hot and humid most of the year. This is a workhorse that runs and keeps humidity below 40%. It has wifi enabled capabilities. It shuts off when needed on smart setting. It has a drain hose for continuous emptying and also has an easy to use bucket in case drain hose can’t be used. It will shut off if bucket fills and you may need to empty daily if you use this method (depending how humid your house is).We love this. It was was well worth the money!

Had a GE dehumidifierfor 20 years. That's a long time. The new one is operating great. Simple operation and does its job.

Don’t buy this piece of junk
We bought this in July 2023. It worked well for one season. We tried using it this season, but it wouldn’t work. We went through the troubleshooting tips in the manual and still no joy. I called GE support. Since it’s a dehumidifier, they were not going to waste any time trying to troubleshoot it with us over the phone. Now the warranty process starts. This is the process as described in an email to me:1. Please send a picture of the receipt and model/serial number tag.2. After I’ve received this information, I will process your Good Will Certificate or rebate.3. You can purchase your new GE unit within 24hrs after you have received confirmation that your certificate has been processed.4. Once you’ve purchased your new appliance, you will then mail in a copy of the new receipt along with the Certificate that you received in the mail. (The address will be listed on the certificate). The rebate is valid for 90 days. Once you’ve mailed this in, we will reimburse you in the form of a check. This process will take 6-8 weeks. So, if the new dehumidifier is cheaper than the original one, GE doesn’t give me the difference. If the new dehumidifier is more expensive than the original one, GE doesn’t give me the difference. If the new dehumidifier breaks, I have to play this game all over again.
