Thanks to the reviewers who mentioned that the chrome paint falls off over time, I keep mine dry, away for the splash of the sink and it's looking brand new after months of use. The top is a bit tricky to open, but it holds so much, almost 2 bottles of soap, I don't need to refill it often, and just make sure it's pretty empty when you try to open it.I also love how clean the pump works; no drips and easy to dispense. I will note that on my initial use, I didn't fill it up completely, so there might have been some air inside, and the first few times I used the pump, it dripped a little, but it did not continue and hasn't been a problem since.It's clean and pretty and functional.

I was actually looking to purchase a kitchen pump for my Dad; he was wasting so much soap by using the bottle and just pouring it on the sponge. During one of my searches I saw this and based on the reviews decided to purchase it. I'm very glad I did.This product holds a lot of soap; I love the fact that you can choose to use the caddy or remove it. When I gave it to my Dad he kind of looked at me like "why did you buy me this" but after a couple of uses he keeps telling me how much he loves it. He is amazed he can use one hand to pump more soap. Now he doesn't have to stop washing the dishes to pick up the bottle and squeeze more soap. He can just pump!Because my Dad was raving about it I decided to purchase one for myself. It took me a minute to figure out how to open it; I was afraid to push too hard for fear I might break it. I did notice from time to time (on rare occasions) the pump drips a tiny bit so I solved that problem by moving the caddy toward the front so the sponge is right under the pump. This way any soap that may leak will leak right onto the sponge. My neighbors just remodeled their entire kitchen so I'm thinking they'll appreciate something like this. It's attractive and makes a nice addition to your kitchen.

I bought this for my 92 year old mom's kitchen. It is sturdy and so easy to pump. and has a large capacity so you don't have to fill it often. Mom was having trouble with the slippery dish soap bottles and this makes it so easy. The pump works great and the sponge holder is a great bonus. I am buying one for my sister and our vacation home. I'd highly recommend this.

I am very pleased with this pump caddy. At first I was concerned about the "chrome" look, but it's not cheesy after all, it's actually quite pretty. The container is bigger than I had pictured, which was another pleasant surprise. The pump dispenses the detergent quite easily - it's nice not having to fiddle with the original detergent containers (what a pain!). I totally recommend this for those looking for a push pump/caddy. It is fantasticf! I do however want to warn you that it may be difficult to open it the first time around. I had to contact Simplehuman customer service to ask them how to open the container - I got a prompt reply with a diagram :) showing me which part to twist - great customer service.Before purchasing it, I had read a couple of bad reviews about this product, someone said it falls over and doesn't stay in place. I've own this product for 4 days now and is being used several times per day and it has not tipped over - not even once AND it is not even resting on a completely flat surface.If the manufacturer happens to read this review the only thing I can say to them is to include opening instructions in their packaging because it's difficult to tell which part of the top one is suppose to twist or pull.

I could have given this a 5 star review, but for one good reason I can not. The pump handle is designed to fail after the warranty period, and when it fails sooner, they happily replace it. So this is a troubling review to write, as some will not believe what I will explain. Look at the chromed handle of the pump, where is has a pin that it pivots on. The pin is made of stainless steel, and had the pin been longer, and had a head on the outside of the handle, that alone would extend the life of the handle for a very long time, but not forever. The handle, while being chrome plated, is not made of any metal that can withstand the harshness of many soaps. Over time, the small area where the pin catches on the metal handle, gradually corrodes, more accurately the metal oxidizes. A simple way to explain what this means, is that the metal turns to dust a little at a time. Eventually, the pin can't hold and the handle pops up, making it impossible to pump soap.How sure am I of this, I am very sure, I have had that handl replaced more than once, and I have bought more than one of these pumps. Isn't this crazy, the best soap pump you can buy is designed to fail after a certain amount of time passes. That time varies according to the kind of soap you pump, very mild soaps wil last a little longer, but if you use Dawn, that time is shortened a lot. That is why mine failed withitn the weqarranty period, I use Dawn in my pump.I just spent a little time using a metal punch to push the pun out, and I replaced it with a stainless steel screw with a stainless Nyloc nut on the other side. The screw was the perfect size, and that pump will last much longer than the original design would have allowed.This is very typical of corporate America, they make products that are designed to eventually fail. How else can they keep money flowing into the company to pay the bills?

I am loving this product. My only issue is the top was difficult to remove originally then it popped off too easily one day and the dish soap spilled out of it. I must not have had the top on properly or tight enough. Outside of the slightly awkward top, I love the pump, it’s simple to use and looks pretty on my counter top.
