I’ve had this for a year now and it still works great! It chills very fast, within an hour usually. 30qt is perfect size for two - 3 days camping. I use with a goal zero500 battery and it will last 2-3 days without a solar charge, indefinitely with the solar charger. Game changer for quick trips as it plugs into car outlet. Easy to carry and without needing ice it’s amazing how much food and beverages you can fit in.

Works really well. Highly recommended! We have used it non-stop for 10 days, including traveling halfway across the US - keeping our items at 0 degrees. It's been in the bed of a truck that has all black cover - which means the bed gets pretty warm. We've seen it get up to 12 degrees. It's smaller than we would like but it works well. Ice based coolers can only get to 32 or more so nothing stays frozen. This keeps items frozen! We've run it on 110v from the truck outlet but during the night we put it on a battery backup (the truck outlet shuts off when the truck isn't running). It uses very little power and our backup was great overnight - plenty of spare power left in the morning.

Just purchased this 30 quart refer for off road camping. 99% of the reviews I read were all positive with only minor issues, and that's to be expected. My personal opinion is I would give this refer 10 stars if that was possible, so I'll just give it 5 stars twice. It performs exactly as described and the temperature control is spot on. I placed a portable thermometer in the box, turned it on, and within 20 minutes the temperature dropped from 78 F, to my set point of 37 F. The portable thermometer was 37 when the unit stabized and maintained controlled set temperature. After that test, I turned the unit to it's maximum cold setting, -8 F, and it took the unit to -7 F and maintained for several hours. Additionally, I had a few questions for the manufacturer/distributor of this unit and their customer service rep, Mya, responded (on a Sunday afternoon) and totally impressed me. All my questions were answered same day and I am a happy camper not having to go to town every 2 days for ice. The unit runs on my Jackery 1000 and only draws 25 watts after reaching its controlled setting. However, in order to reach the desired temperature, the unit must work hard to get there. What I'm saying is that during the initial cool down, the unit exceeds 100 watts of power. Keep that in mind when you plug it into your vehicle 12 volt receptacle. My advice is to plug it into a wall outlet before you need the refer, then when you transfer it to your vehicle, your 12 volt system won't be stressed. Just my thoughts. Hope it helps. By the way, in the "User Manual" it states on page 1 to let the unit set for more than 6 hours before using. Then, on page 3, it states to let the unit set for 24 hours before first use. Contacted customer service, and they're looking into a possible manual update. In the interim, let it set for 24 hours to ensure safe operation. If it was upside down, on its side or whatever during shipment, if you turn it on too soon, serious damage can occur to the compressor. I highly recommend this unit and will buy one for my son soon so he can enjoy camping like I do. Happy trails. Mick

Very happy with this product. I've used this on multiple trips and it has cooled quickly and has a low power draw once cool. Has a decent enough space and isn't too heavy.

The Fridge - 5/5: I thoroughly researched portable fridges for an upcoming festival where I’ll be off the grid for a few days, and to use as terp and beer fridge at home. This is the one I settled on. I’m initially completely satisfied with it, so 5 stars, but I do update my reviews often, so we’ll see how it goes! 30L seems to be the sweet spot between capacity and efficient compressor wattage/runtime, and about as big of a fridge as I can get away with in the back seat of my Accord (placed in the middle of the back seat, with vents and power cable facing forwards to center console), which is the only way you can really transport this without putting it in the hot trunk or covering up one of the vented sides (something the instructions on any fridge say not to do). So, runtimes were the most important info I was looking for, so I’ll contribute my experience. The fridge was plugged in and set to 50F in a room that is kept between 78-80F. It reached that temp quickly on AC power (somewhere close to advertised 15min, I’d say). I then switched it to ECO mode and plugged it into my Anker Solix C300 powerbank’s DC (car lighter) outlet, and let it run on that for a while. Over the course of 30hrs, the battery level dropped only 32%! Of course, this is because the compressor only runs a small fraction of the time and the rest of the time there is pretty much zero (<1W) power draw. At that rate, the little powerbank could power this fridge for about 4 days in this particular environment. However, to illustrate how much ambient temp matters, I fed the metrics to AI and it estimates less than half that time (closer to 1.5-2 days) if the environment temp was closer to 90F, which sounds about right to me. So, don’t expect runtimes to be as great if you’re leaving this thing in a car on a hot day or something. Noise level isn’t too bad. If you’re in a dead silent room you’ll notice it, but with a fan or anything going, not so much. There is a slight, high-pitched PWM screech sort of noise when its running, but only the young and/or keen of hearing (specifically in the >14khz range or so) will notice (or maybe its a defect with my particular unit, who knows). Really, the only bad thing about the fridge I’ve noticed so far is how much the carry handles suck. They’re supper shallow and smooth, and make it feel like you’re carrying the weight of the thing in your fingertips, hurts my hands, but thankfully I won’t be moving it often. I decided that I won’t be subtracting a star for this, because the lack of bulky, external handles is part of how this model fits where I want it to fit, and you just can’t have everything. The Cover - 3/5: Also, I should mention that the above runtimes were with the bundled insulating cover on. I have yet to perform a similar test without the cover, so can’t really comment on how effective it is at insulating, but I imagine it has to help some. I am a bit disappointed in the cover not having better carry handles or straps or any kind of loops to help with securing this thing in a back seat or trunk — some molle (and morale patch loop sections for nametags) would also be great addition and would help justify the cost of the cover. I’m also somewhat perplexed by the fact that the cover is black… the warmest, most light-absorbing color anything could be. It would have made a lot more sense to make it white or, ideally, reflective (I care way more about efficient cooling than whether or not dirt shows). So I’d give the fridge itself a 5-star rating and the cover a 3-star rating, if I could rate them separately, but, alas, I cannot.

I have been using the Bouge 30 Quart Fridge on a regular basis since July 2022. It has performed perfectly since that time . I use it as a freezer when I pick up frozen food and ice cream at the supermarket, as the hot weather in Arizona makes transporting frozen food home a real " challenge ". I paid $309. for it in 2022, and that is a real bargain compared to 12 Volt freezers that cost over $500. Apparently ' BOUGE RV ' makes quality products.

Did an amazing job keeping things cool on a 1300 mole road trip! Easy to use

Great so far, the cover is a nice addition to make it more portable and keep things cooler. We use it in a truck bed camper and on the road in our primary vehicle.
