Does Raid Essentials for fly gnat and mosquito harm house plants

I've been spraying near my plants & so far they seem ok

How well does this work on flies?

It doesn't work well on any flying insects unless you you drown them in it & it leaves behind a very slippery residue

For gnats, do you spray the air around your chairs first before sitting on the deck or patio?

I spray the specific spot where I know the gnats come from..but spraying the air would probably help
