These are not premium card sleeves... BUT...
To start off with - these are not premium card sleeves, so if you are expecting Dragon Shield quality this ain't it. I would say they are better than penny sleeves, though.I was unsure whether to buy based on the reviews and the worst I can say about them is that they don't come in an amazing, box-art bedecked package solution. They are in a non-descript brown corrugated box with multiple packs of Standard and Euro sleeves in a protective... sleeve.I completed sleeving the entire game last night and had zero splits, the cards went in easily, and there is a 1 - 2 mm lip at the top of the card (which I prefer to protect the top of the card from finger dirt and corner bumps). The width is enough to fit snugly with no movement side to side. The sleeves were clean, with no scratches or film on them. The front and back separated easily for simple card insertion (so much so, that a complete novice was able to help sleeve cards - don't judge me! There are hundreds of cards!!)The sleeved cards sat in a pile easy enough, but there was some bottom puffing, so too many would make a pile go unstable (100+) - but broken down into the appropriate groups for the game had no issues of maintaining proper piles. There was a little slipping of card on card in a pile, but nothing crazy. Shuffling is not as easy as with a deluxe set of sleeves so some care needs to be taken but I didn't find it overly difficult to loose-hand shuffle. Hand snapping (first to last card, last to first card) is possible, but not as satisfying as with, say, a hand of dragon shield cards.Overall, there are enough sleeves to do the entire game with left overs for expansions and accidents. I am using the Folded Space Insert for Gloomhaven to organise my box and while some slots are tight, they took all the cards fully sleeved. For me, a "worth it" product for outcome and pricepoint.

Not Penny Sleeves, Almost but Much Better
Now that my copy of Gloomhaven is FINALLY in my hands (DO NOT BUY FROM BROOKLYN TOYS, search BoardGame Geek for reasons why) I can actually review these card sleeves. As noted in many of the Q&A section, these are NOT the generic “Penny Sleeves” many card gamers are used to (and heartily avoid outside of protecting a card you’ve just bought till you can get it protected into the majority of your collection).’From a “feel” perspective, these sleeves are slightly thicker/“stiffer” than the normal Penny Sleeve...but what makes these work is the fact that they are properly cut to card size.In general with Penny Sleeves, if you go to sleeve a CCG Card (Pokemon, Magic, Yu-gi-oh, etc.) in a penny sleeve, you’ll generally find that the card has a lot of room to “slide around” inside the sleeve, making these things horrible to try to handle cards in...cards tend to fall out, the sleeves extend WAY to far above the top of the card, etc. This makes shuffling and handling the cards a difficult (at best) experience.NOT SO WITH THESE SLEEVES! While they’re not THAT much thicker than a penny sleeve, they are properly cut so that it requires sufficient force to slot the card within the sleeve. Compared to standard sized cards and card sleeves (for games like Pokemon and Magic) these sleeves actually fit the Gloomhaven cards slightly tighter than ultra-pro or dragonshields do (which is saying something). You’re not going to have any of the Gloomhaven cards slip around in these sleeves as you’re trying to shuffle or play with them...making card handling a lot better. And the alternative? If you were to try to sleeve your Gloomhaven cards in something more professional (Ultra-Pro Pro-Mats, Dragonshields, etc.) you’re first off going to pay an arm and a leg, secondly I don’t know that you’d get the hundreds of cards to FIT into anything anymore (like organizers). Given that these aren’t much thicker than penny sleeves, yet are much more functional, you get almost the best of both worlds...And at a price you simply cannot beat anywhere else.At $140 MSRP (and many of us paid a LOT more than that for our retail copies) not protecting the hundreds of cards in the set from skin oils and mis-handling feels almost criminal to me...and there’s just not a cheaper or better option out there for sleeving up your cards. This one is a no brainer and highly recommended for all Gloomhaven owners.
