Works well, Lasts a Long Time, but price is getting a bit high...
Works great, but what happened to the price? I've used these for years and they do a great job, but my current one is wearing out after several years and lots of miles. I paid about $7 last time, including shipping. Now they are much more expensive. I'm guessing the demand has gone down now that everybody has moved on from the Nike+ and sensor combo? Either way, if you don't mind the cost, I have found these to be a solid option - offers protection to your sensor in rain and mud, works on a variety of shoes, and stays put on all types of terrain. No, it's not quite as accurate as GPS, but that's because the Nike+ can't adjust on the fly for different shoes, paces, and stride length (I keep mine calibrated to be accurate at race pace and when I'm in my racing shoes, where it matters, and accept some inaccuracy when I'm running easy pace in training shoes).

Better than expected
At first I was very wary about getting a product like this. in fact, I've used Nike products (shoes) for running the last 3.5 years just because it held the chip. Now, I'm FREE! Attached the chip with my Saucony's and forgot it was there until I noticed it post run. Doesn't feel bulky. Goes on with ease and off. Not a permanent attachment if you use your shoes to walk around in as well. Accuracy was not inhibited. With the Nike shoes, I was usually +/- .05 to .10 off. with this I was still within that. Yesterday's run was within .02. So, if anything removing it from the sole of the shoe may have helped. Only negative was they use Gorilla like tape to secure it, so the box gets destroyed trying to get it out. Also there is a slip of paper when you open it showing which way is up for the chip. be careful because placement of the chip is important.

If you are not a fan of Nike sneakers or you're low on cash, don't give up yet!
I have only good things to say about this product. I was hooked on the idea of getting the Nike+ running system from the moment I first saw a commercial for it. I'll willingly admit it, I can be lazy - so the thought of some extra motivation to get out and run worked for me. I got the Nano, got the Nike+ armband, but the problem was that I'm not a big fan of Nike sneakers. They just don't fit me right. I currently have New Balance 992'2. I spent a lot of time reading reviews to see if I would have to get the Nike sneakers to house the sensor. If I did, I wasn't going to bother. Some replacement products seemed to be inconsistent because the sensor moved or flopped about while running. This item was cheap, and the premise of it seemed logical so I gave it a try. It has been spot on for me. I measured the distance around my development with both my car and bike's odometers. Accurate readings and it stays put. It is a snug fit in the pocket and the velcro holds it on the laces tightly. No movement at all. It seems durable, though I have only had it for a relatively short period of time. If you have a pair of shoes solely for running, you can even just leave it on there.

Works pretty well as an alternative to Nike+ shoes
I've been stuck using only Nike+ shoes as I always wanted to have the spot for the sensor. Recently I needed to get some different shoes and so I got this to see how well it would work. I was pleasantly surprised! Once calibrated, it works almost as well as the dedicated shoe. I noticed the accuracy can vary a bit depending on how flat you can get the sensor so I always tighten the strap for this sensor on my shoe as tight as I can once I have my shoes on and tied. This eliminates most of the variance and I am very pleased with how this work.

iPod Nano Calibration Required
My guess is that an accelerometer will measure more distance if it is placed under your foot, when compared to the top of your foot. When I calibrated my sensor on a treadmill, I ran three miles and the sensor thought it was 2.7 miles. So, either the treadmill was off or the sensor was off. Regardless, I set the calibration in my nano so that it was 3.0 miles and now regardless of the treadmill I use (including other brands), the nano and the treadmills are always within .05 miles of each other. The Marware Sportsuit, is very easy to put on and take off. I like this because I don't use the battery while walking or biking in the same shoes.I also gave up on the armands and now I use a teeny weeny fanny pack: Nathan Gel Waist Pack . The Pack as an "External, mesh Trash Pocket" that holds my ipod nano upside down (with the receiver pointing up, so that when I look down, I can see the ipod screen right side up.The Nike Amp+ iPod Nano Remote Watch should allow you to leave your ipod anywhere you want on your body. That watch in theory will allow you to start/stop/pause/get powersong/activate voice feedback. The Marware Sportsuit performs as expected, with calibration.BTW, you do need to insert the foot pod face down so that it is face up when you flip it around.

It kind of works...
I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep lifting up the insole of the shoe to insert/remove the Nike sensor so I got this case. I guess that your laces have to be on the tighter side to make sure that the sensor picks up your movement because I only got .78 miles acknowledged on my 2+ mile jog/walk; I don't have loose laces--I just don't tie them tight. I was pissed because the ONLY reason why I even go out to jog/walk is because I get to record my sessions on the Nike+ website (I find absolutely NO joy in jogging/walking). Instead of "risking" another mis-measurement, I just put the sensor in the shoe (I take the sensor out because I use these shoes for every day use too and the instructions said to take out the sensor to save battery life); I have had no problems with the sensor when it's in the shoe. I have a friend who described the same kind of situation with the case and even went further to say that it can vary from shoe-to-shoe!
