Pretty good at 2.5gpm, not so much at 1.75. Needs high water pressure
I'll start with what works really well: The primary spray is a soft, relaxing, drenching rainshower. You definitely have to ask yourself what kind of shower you like. Do you want a powerful, firehose / pressure washer type spray? If so, this probably isn't for you (I'll mention alternates below). If you want a wide soft rainshower type spray that also has enough coverage to rinse head-to-toe, this is a good choice. When it is working under ideal conditions, I'd describe as almost like champagne -- it sprays bubble-filled jets at you. The "Statement" sets itself apart from other Katalyst models in how wide the spray is. For someone with wide shoulders, it's really nice to have a wide spray cover everything so you're not constantly shifting around to stay warm. With that said, I'd like to caution when this doesn't work out. First off, if you have poor water pressure, the Katalyst aeration system doesn't work. It requires a vigorous water flow to pull in air. Without strong water pressure, you'll find very little aeration in the jets and it just feels like a pitiful drip instead of a luxurious soft rain. The other situation where it doesn't work is the 1.75gpm model. Unfortunately none of the Katalyst models seem to work well at 1.75gpm, where the water streams are narrower and sparser. They all feel very underwhelming even compared to other water saving heads. Before mentioning alternatives, I purposely waited until this point to mention the other spray modes. TLDR I think they're all kinda useless. The massage swirling streams is very interesting of a sensation and I do use it pretty often. I wouldn't say it's much of a massage though, but I honestly don't think any massaging showerhead can really produce enough pressure to massage muscles. The mist/cloud mode is interesting -- if you've seen ads for Nebia or Miszei 'microbubble' shower heads, this is equivalent. I will say lately the mist showers are being recognized for their ability to produce small fast droplets that replace the function of soap, so it could be useful as part of your skin/hair care routine. However, the downside of a mist spray is that without a fully enclosed shower you will feel chilly when using one.So if you are the kind of person who thinks a good shower feels like a flood of gentle warm water, get the 2.5gpm version of this shower head. If you're in it for any of the alternate spray modes: don't bother, it's totally not worth the money. But if you're looking to save water at the 1.75gpm flow rate: Don't bother, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for something that saves water or feels like you're being blasted by a pressure washer, I highly recommend the High Sierra showerheads with an adjustable flow rate valve. That allows you to dial it from a gentle rain to practically being blasted with a fire house, and those shower heads really do feel satisfying at basically every flow rate. The downside is that the spray isn't as wide as this one. We use High Sierra in all the guest baths and save this Kohler Statement for our master bathroom.

Very worth while
Moves a high volume of water that is very satisfying. The massage mode is like a wild fireworks show, but there is a rain / mist mode that’s amazingly drenching. Very good shower!

Wonderful Upgrade!!
As I hunted for an upgraded shower head, this was the ONLY one I saw on the market that has ALL positive, five star reviews (with maybe one review total that’s less than perfect but not negative). I also bought a Kohler water filter. Here are my thoughts:•This worked fine in my apartment.•No loss of water pressure.•There was the tiniest bit of leaking but nothing I even need tape for. I just need to tighten it better.•The three modes (massage, must, and regular shower spray) were luxurious.•The Kohler water filter (it is NOT a softener) is a MUST. It’s sold separately but it’s an upgrade you want.*Let me save you some time: The Kohler water filter only needs to be replaced ONCE a year. Save yourself the money and do this. Competitors need to be changed two to four times per year. All in all, this was a really nice upgrade for my bathroom. It’s not going to change your life (no shower head will) but if you want an upgrade, this is the move.My only one little request was: I wish they made it in rose gold.

Best shower head
You get the real estate of a rain shower without having it dump straight on top of your head. The "mist" option is a little odd, but the rain and massage settings are awesome. And it looks cool, too.
