Perfect Replacement for Older Pioneer Head Unit
The factory-fitted Pioneer AVIC-F70DAB in my Isuzu D-Max Blade developed a fault that rendered it unusable. After a bit of research for a replacement 2 DIN head unit the SPH-DA360DAB was exactly what I was looking for. My main criteria for the replacement were wireless CarPlay (I used a CarPlay wi-fi dongle on the old one), DAB radio and reversing camera support. I never used any of the other functions on my F70DAB such as the CD player, SD Card player and built-in navigation (CarPlay does this better and the maps are up to date). I also wanted a unit that was a straight swap to the existing wiring loom so I didn't consider other manufacturers.Installation was easy, all the car's connectors plugged straight in, and I only extras I needed were a couple of 4mm spacers to bring the screen flush with the bezel. I used the supplied GNSS antenna in place of the factory fitted one as the connector was different (even though the unit doesn't have NAV the antenna is required for CarPlay navigation). I powered up the unit and after about 10 seconds it booted up. By the time I entered the DAB radio screen it had populated all the BBC station which I added to the six quick access buttons at the bottom. Setting up CarPlay was very easy, just pair the iPhone (an iPhone 15 Pro Max) via Bluetooth then connect to the unit's Wi-Fi. I had to change the driving position from left to right, other than that it just worked! Initially the steering wheel controls didn't work but that was my mistake, I had plugged the 3.5mm jack into the AUX input rather than the steering wheel control input.Sound quality is excellent, actually better than the factory fitted F70DAB. The screen is clear and uncluttered, and I actually like the lack of physical buttons or knobs as it looks more like original equipment rather than aftermarket. Some reviewers have complained about the startup time, it's less than 15 seconds from switching on the fully functional which is quicker than the old unit, and actually quicker than our top of the range 2022 Suzuki S-Cross!I would recommend this unit as a direct replacement for a 2012 - 2019 Isuzu D-Max, and any other vehicle with a 2 DIN audio slot using a fitting kit.

Cheapest wireless Android Auto / Apple CarPlay for several reasons
If you shop around the internet, most Wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay are around 600 pounds. This one being under 450 makes it one of the cheapest on the market (besides Android HeadUnit which will likely to comes with a number of quality issues). Ironically, this one also have issues in itself:1. Missing Google Map in Android Auto - To be fair though, this could be my Samsung phone or Google's fault rather than Pioneer. Thankfully, it can be fixed. In my Samsung Phone (forget the head unit), Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery > Background usage limits > Never sleeping App > Add Maps . Google Map shall reappear in Android Auto. (The power saving features in Android 12 will disable Google Map from Android Auto. Exclude map from power saving feature will turn google map back on)2. Slow in comparison to more expensive unit. Each time you switch on the car, it will take 20 seconds to fire up the unit, then an extra 10 - 15 seconds to get into Android Auto. While other units also have to load, but they are often 5 to 10 seconds faster in every step. The slowness is more obvious when you scrolling the USB's playlist. You can just see the head Unit is trying to Catch up with your scrolling.3. Being a Head Unit without a single physical button might look neat but it can also be a problem. Just try to feel your way to turn the volume up or down then you'll understand what I'm saying. In fact, this unit is very difficult to operate without the use of Multimedia Control around the steering wheel.4. No support for Universal steering wheel multimedia Control - You can't go into setting and map each button. The option is simply not there (nothing in settings whatsoever). So you'll need to stick to stock then buy an adaptor specifically for Pioneer. If you do not have stock like me (i.e. no multimedia control at the steering wheel), you are screwed. What are the things I like about his Head Unit besides the fact is cheap?1. Sound is pretty good - it also has an equaliser where you can make lots of adjustments.2. It can display Asian charactersOverall, I think "You Get What You Paid For". Although Android Head Unit are cheaper with more functionality. However, the sound quality and reliability are my primary concerns.

I’ve owned this for a 11months and it’s started now started glitching and it randomly disconnects whilst listening to music I wouldn’t recommend buying this

All the features needed
Screen is good. Flush buttons look much nicer than the previous Pioneer layout and don't particularly compromise usability.Super easy to setup and wireless has worked flawlessly so far.A little slow to load up at start but in all honesty, it's liveable.

Good but Slowwwww
This was my second Pioneer head unit the Pioneer DMH-A240BT Mechafree 6.2” was totally not fit for purpose and had some parts missing. So what about this one ? It’s very slow to connect to iPhone and Apple CarPlay and at times I have to forget the device and then re pair can be very frustrating especially when your in a hurry. However the screen is bright and vibrant sound quality is fantastic. I almost probably would not have bought pioneer again but already had the wiring loom attached to my car. So overall marks out of 10 ? 7

Excellent head unit
I bought this to replace an old head unit in my Mercedes slk r171. With a dedicated cable connector and new facia it looks great and is a major upgrade in functionality from the factory fit
