Are the fish flexible . can you use these for play.can they go water?

these fish are awesome!! Yes they are flexible and my 2 year old grandson plays with these like crazy!! That's why I bought them.. water I'm not sure.. I think they would be ok..how ever one eye on a fish fell out but I think that was due to him probably picking at it.

can you fold these fish? Do they soak up water if in water?

No, these are made of foam, can float in water, will not soak up.

Could you paint these fish to do fish printing/stamping on a tee shirt?

I wouldn't think so, but if you are a crafty person it just might work.

Do the scales protrude from the fish?

no--they are painted/printed on and the surface is fragile so if not careful it comes off
