Ion is always a reliable hair dye, I’ve never been failed by it! I had covered up my blue hair to switch things up and it stuck! Even after handfuls of washing my hair with hot water (which I dearly missed, having colored hair meant sacrificing that) it still has yet to budge.Added bonus: since it doesn’t come out of the tube immediately black, prank your boyfriend/family like I did and tell them you bought blonde dye on accident and already put some in your hair. Always a funny reaction.

I have been using Ion creme hair color for about 10 years now. Always love this product. I use it with the 20 developer and have had great success. It does not damage your hair like the box colors in the store. It runs a little more than the box brands but is so much more gentle on your hair! I have changed the color to my mood and have never been unhappy. It is pretty much true to the color showing on the color chart. May start out a little darker but becomes true to the color after about a few days to a week.

Hi!I am a 35 year old Indian descent caramel colored female with dark hair. I had went to the salon and paid $400 for a rose gold balayage 1.5 months ago. However, my water is very hard and full of minerals and iron and it literally washed out my semi permanent dye from pulp riot color cleopatra the next day. I have been using keracolor rose gold depositing conditioner to keep the color but I wanted something permanent. My stylist had already lightened my hair to 7 (7 levels from black to honey blonde) and I used this color. Ion colors for the most part always processes gray or gray blue. Nothing to worry about! I used a 20 developer with this color left it on for 35 mins and my hair that was already lightened came out a very beautiful rose gold color. Best purchase ever! My hair is now permanently colored so it lasts longer and now I’ll get to dye my hair other colors of pink or pink gold with no fear that my base color will fade.

The media could not be loaded.  I love how easy to apply this product is (I used jet black). It is thick enough to not run in application, even with liquid developer (do not forget the developer, I used 20vol in a 1:1 ratio). It removes very easily from skin with an alcohol wipe, but be careful using those on your face because it can cause some pretty painful breakouts. There was enough in the tube, with the added developer to cover my whole head with some left over in the bowl (the blonde piece is intentional) and my hair is about shoulder length at its longest pieces. The color is very much pigmented and is giving the intense goth abyss color I was going for (Raven by Manic Panic turned green after a handful of washes, Transylvania by Arctic Fox washed out entirely in a week, and so I gave up on semipermanent direct dyes for my hair goals). This dye is the darkest black dye I've used and I'm obsessed with it. My only issue is that while washing it out, it stained my blonde hair a bit. I ordered a color remover by Punky Color to strip these blue tones out but I'm worried about it's effectiveness because it is a permanent dye. My shower wasn't stained and it didn't even leave dye marks on my towel after the first wash. Over all it's a very good dye but be EXTRA CAREFUL if you want some parts of your hair undyed. You'll probably need help washing the dye out in that case! I hope this helps someone~

Either it requires something that isn't included, or it doesn't work at all.

Tip: you have to mix this in with a developer. The inside of the box reccomends 10 volume developer with a 1:1 ratio. Meaning, if you use 4 oz of the tube, add in 4 oz of developer and mix them together.For reference: My natural hair is an ashy blonde color. The texture is fine and straight.This is the perfect shade of purple for my hair. It makes my green/hazel eye color stand out!I recieve plenty of compliments on my hair.After the 3 1/2 - 4 week mark it starts to fade but I think that is normal when you dye your hair any "funky" color. I will continue to use this hair color until I want a change.

I've been using ion dye for years and love it! I decided to try a different color this time. All of the pictures lead me to believe it was a dark blonde / light brown with a touch of rose. My hair came out copper red. Definitely not what I expected.

I’ve previously dyed my hair many times and my hair has never fallen out, but with this product that I’ve never used it did. It’s not even worth it because the colour did nothing to my hair

No difference in the hair color. Difficult to actually find the instructions. When I finally did on the inside of package the print was so small I needed a magnifying glass to read and even then it was unclear. Terrible smell. Would not recommend this product to anyone.
