Chooee Mountain Bike Linear V-Brake Set, Bicycle Front and Rear V-Brakes.

bought these as a "stop gap" for use on a rolling resto of a pre owned Kona Explosive, paint work fine but a lot of the components seen better days, The original high end Shimano V brakes were distinctly tatty, worn pads , rusty springs and retaining bolts, semi stuck noodles etc. The actual levers are fine so , i fitted new inner cables and made up new outer cables with plastic ferrules, so basically when fitting these new brakes i set the pads with a front "toe in" by attaching, a broad elastic band to the rear of the pads whilst tightening on to the rim. The result is a squeal free extremely efficient and satisfying stopping regime that does not snatch or grab. Very pleased with these brakes, its my opinion but I think its important to set a gentle toe in so the pads break in gently. i have the option of renovating the Shimano originals and will do so but can take my time, these brakes look very smart and when set up properly work very well. for the price and the actual working functionality, i cant knock them.

Sturdy, easily adjustable. They come with all bits and pieces needed to replace your old ones, you just need some tools (allen keys, pliers/wire cutters, and a screwdriver). Note that there are no instructions in the box but you can find what you need on YT, or just look at how your old ones were fit. If you are reusing the old cable "tubes" with the new cables, best use the opportunity to squirt some WD40 inside to make the new cables run smoothly. If you are also replacing the handles then you will have to take off everything from the handle bar to slide them on (likely your rubber handles and gear controls) but this is not a big deal. All in all really good.

Fantastic brake callipers, exceptional pads and cables, let down by sub par levers!There is no reach adjustment on the brake levers at all, which is IMHO ridiculous I did not install them because what is the point, it would be a downgrade!I will urge some caution if you buy these brakes, the pads are hyper aggressive (not a bad thing!), they will throw you if you are moving from bog-standard pads on most bikes under £300. If you overuse (panic and go full on break) on the front break at speed, you are going over the handle bars exceptional stopping power!I will be looking into Chooee break pads going forward depending on how they wear on my mountain bike, they seem better than some vastly more expensive (more or less the cost of this entire kit) pads I use on my road bike!

I needed to replace the back brake on my e-bike build project.This Linear V-Brake was of average price with an average rating.On installation, I found that the inner (plastic) sheave had a different internal diameter on either side resulting in looseness in the arm. (seen in first image)The general build of the item felt light and cheap compared to the generic Linear V-Brake it was replacingThe original V-Brake had a metallic inner sleeve (seen in the second image) this one uses a poor-quality plastic one.Spend more money as this one feels very cheap.

Work better than stock brakes

I bought the set since my bike was in need of new brakes and wires. I got these hoping id be able to install all the components ,however that was not the case. Let me start off with they supply you with everything, the brakes seem good too, the pads could be a bit shorter but eh. What made me upset about this purchase was the brake handles in itself. They're no way in hell usable on most bikes, the opening for the brake handle is too narrow for any handlebar, if not for that id give this product 5 stars. I ended up using my old brake handle and using only one brake.

Product worked as expected and arrived in a timely manner.

I bought this for my son's bike thinking it was a good deal thinking it would work on my son's bike it was a waste of money a waste of my time and I'm on a fixed income and none of the parts fit none of them worked so whatever you do don't waste your money on buying this product
