as old as this cpu is its still very good used it to upgrade many dell OptiPlex with core 2 duo cpu as long as you can install most current bios this chip works in many systems that use the older socket 775 as long as it supported a q6600 also this chip is much faster then the q6600 as it has 4 megs more cache and faster front side bus

Great Quad-Core!
I am very happy with this purchase. I put it an a refurbished HP enterprise class desktop I coverted into a server for my Plex hosting. The Plex transcoder service is a cpu hog and I have serveral friends that like to stream my media. All my friends say that everything works great on their end and the cpu handles all the traffic well. The 12 mb of cache is definitely noticeable, very happy with every thing.

Old tech to the rescue
I put this in a computer I built back in 2007. Now I can play modern games. Seriously, I can play GTA 5, Far Cry, Fallout 4... It's amazing what the best processor of 10 years ago cost then vs now. If you have an older, upgradeable computer sitting around, for god's sake upgrade it. Totally worth it.

It worked and gave a boost to an old system. A word of caution though, it may not work on some motherboards as I tried it first on an HP unit and didn't work but when I installed it on another mb, it worked. Both mb's are socket 775 but I think the HP mb has some restrictions and I found out later on their website that it only supports certain 775 cpu's. So research your mb first before buying.

Simply works as Intel designed it to. Nice CPU for the motherboard I have.
What can I say about a processor, it works as designed ir it doesn't. This does. Benchmarks from mt DUO core vs, this QUAD core is noticeably faster for loading apps. Old CPU was a 25 second load for the full Photoshop app. Believe it or not, 3 seconds with the QUAD. However startup and internet speeds are the same.

A good upgrade for a 10 year old socket 775 system.
I wanted to upgrade my socket 775 computer. This cpu was a reasonable compromise. There are one or two faster socket 775 cpu chips available but they are cost prohibitive.

Best chip in class
Good for 2018 gaming. Quad Core 3.0Ghz is the sweet spot. Pair it with like a 970GTX or something
