Spyderco Delica 4 Plastic Knife Kit, Rounded Tip

Sadly, this does not work as a cheap way to replace the knife scales on your actual Delica 4 with glow in the dark scales. As a kit to make a glow in the dark knife for a kid or as a letter opener or whatever it worked just fine. Assembly was very easy, the instructions were clear, and the final product works perfectly.

My son and I had a great time putting this together! It is very simple to assemble and can be done in less than 2 or 3 minutes. We took our time and sanded down the burs from breaking the pieces off and it still only took a about 8 minutes or so. Good short project for those that may not have great attention spans yet. He really loves it and keeps talking about how cool it is. He is learning to move his fingers out of the way when closing it and other knife safety practices. Great kit and really sturdy once assembled. I also think it is great that you can disassemble and reassemble it really easily so we can have fun pretending to maintain it! This seems way better than the wooden kits out there.

This is my second one of these. Bought them to teach knife safety to my kids (starting at age 2). They love that they get their own knife that glows; I like that it’s perfectly dull with nothing resembling an edge. I use these to teach them how to handle a folding knife safely, not touching the edge, keeping their hands and fingers out of the folding path, etc., and they will get their own real knife once they can demonstrate consistent safe handling (years later). Did I mention they love that it glows in the dark?! And I don’t have to worry about them hurting themselves while learning - of course, all while giving guidance and feedback. This is just a teaching tool and doesn’t replace the teacher.

My daughter loves this knife. It doesn't have sharp edges and makes a perfect training tool for kids. Allows them to learn knife handling and safety. Plus a lot of fun to build. Who doesn't want a glow-in-the-dark knife!!

This was really fun to assemble. It doesn't take much pressure to "unlock" the blade, but at least this plastic model didn't break like the wooden one did. I was disappointed it didn't have a pocket clip! And it would have been nice if the blade had a false edge so that it could be used as a letter opener or something.

My boy absolutely loves this thing! Very easy to assemble and a great way to teach how a lock back knife like this works. This is also a great way to teach younger children how to safely and properly handle a knife which will allow me to determine when I feel my son is responsible enough to use a knife of his own. Also, the glow in the dark plastic this knife is made out of is absolutely ridiculous! I never had a single glow in the dark toy that glowed this freaking bright! Seriously, this thing must put out at least 10-20 lumens of light when fully exposed/charged up. Lol

Bought this for my little girls birthday. She has been very interested in my pocket knives for years and always wants to help me cut things. This is a toy kit through and through. It’s well made, it does function well. With a little trimming you can put a very thick and dull edge on part of the plastic blade and it will cut soft bread or bananas. That’s enough for her to feel included and it’s safe. Exactly what I wanted to give her

This was a present for my 14-year old daughter. It's easy to put together and my kid learned to open it with one hand by placing her thumb in the blade hole and pushing it open. The other two methods of holding the handle and snapping the blade open, or pinching the hole with thumb and forefinger and snapping the handle downwards won't work with this knife. My daughter also figured to close it one handed by pressing the lock and then pressing the back of the blade to close it. Now the kid wants a real Spyderco knife.

I bought this a while ago in the hopes that I could teach proper knife handling to my daughter. Turns out this was great. Not only was it fun to build for the both of us, it was quite educational as both my daughter and I learned the internal mechanism of a lock back folder. The glo in the dark aspect makes her want to play with it and I can monitor and correct her if she doesn't handle it correctly.

Great product to teach youth about folding knife construction and general knife safety.
