APC P6GC 6 Outlet/120V Power-Saving Timer Essential SurgeArrest, 3 foot cord

Very good surge protectors. Had many sudden, power outages, and so far, no damage has occurred to printers, computers, laptops. These have timers on them, which you can program to have the surge protector go off automatically. I find this very handy, especially when I leave the office for the day and if I forget to turn off the monitor, the programmed surge protector goes off at the specified time, and so does everything else. Users need to program the current Time and Day first, so all the timed schedules that you input thereafter, will fall into place. In the right, bottom corner of the screen, there is a P for p.m., or an A for a.m...it is really tiny, so have a magnifying glass handy. The top shows the Day for the week (i.e., MO for Monday, TU for Tuesday, etc.)., the far left side shows you ON or OFF. When setting the clock (Time), especially the minutes, you need to scroll through one minute at a time...I haven't found a way to go through 15 min. intervals anyway. There are 6 outlets, and yes, you can program each one differently. You will set the timer for each outlet pretty much the same way you did to set the current Time and Day, the difference is that, instead of pressing the TIME button, you will press the TIMER button. EAch time you press the Timer button, you will see a number to the left...this indicates the numher of the outlet you are programming...if you see the number 1, then you are programming the 1st outlet, if you see the number 2, then you are programming the 2nd outlet, etc. To the right of the number is either an "ON" or "OFF". Again, it's very tiny, and barely visible, but it's there. This tells you when you want to turn the particular outlet on or off. For example, if I see "ON" next to the number 1, and I input the time 6:00 a.m., then that particular outlet will power on at 6:00 am. I can then program this same outlet to power "OFF" at whatever time I want.

It is what I need. Nowadays, the so called "smart" outlets and plugs just relay on the internet heavily. What I need is just a simple solution with an auto-switch timer.The first outlet new the timer is the "always-on" one, and the timer controls all the other 5 outlets at the same time, but gives you 6 programs to meet all your "auto-switch" needs.Just a head up. If you setting your outlet to auto-on at 7AM, and auto-off at 3AM, and you do this during 12AM - 7AM like me, your outlet will NOT turn-on since the first time it turn on will be 7AM.

I bought this surge protector for the timer feature. I needed someway to turn off the electronics in my bedroom at night and during the day while I'm at work. As other reviewers have mentioned, the timer is a bit confusing and difficult to read because of the tiny screen. It allows 6 different timer settings. You can set for all 7 days of the week or just the weekdays or weekends. There is an override feature to allow you to reactivate the surge protector. The timer screen is tiny and if you are not in a well lighted area it can be difficult to see the on/off and am/pm indicator since there is no back light. I plugged my surge protector behind a dresser so I needed a flashlight to see the screen. The cord is only 3' so you pretty much need to be next to an outlet. There are 6 3-prong outlets - 5 with timer and 1 "always on". The override feature allows you to manually turn on protector during "off" period.Once I set the timer up using the included instructions, it worked as expected (i.e., turns off/on as expected. You just need to follow the instructions. It can be a little frustrating but if you follow the directions the timer can be set. I'm not great at following instructions, but I was able to set it up after a few trial and errors. I like it overall and now I don't have to worry about my electronics being on as I sleep. There are three tiny lights on the protector to indicate that the protector is plugged in and an indicator to show that timer is set.It's a bit pricier, but worth it to have electronics turned off. Just wish the timer screen was a little larger and the cord a little longer. Overall worth the effort it took to setup the timer.

I was convinced to get this after a saw a review form another reptile owner on this product. I really needed a timed outlet for my 3 reptile's heat sources, because i am going to be out of town for a week, and i would not be there to turn them off n' on! I set them all and they seem to work just fine! Turned on and off at the assigned hour. Easy enough to set the clock and timers (which was nice.)I recommend this product if your have multiple reptiles with heat lamps to keep them consistent heating schedules... and so you don't have to worry about flicking their lights off n on if your at work our out-in-about. You can set different timers for the 5 different outlets for any day(s) of the week. This is a much better buy then the "Zilla 24/7 digital timer power outlet" in my opinion and this APC seems to be much better quality.Only 4 stars because 1.) the lcd read-out is very small. No problem for me, but it may be an issue for some people (especially seeming the on/off and am/pm display. 2.) there's no way of knowing which outlet is which of the 6. But i figured it out just by playing with it.other then that. GREAT!

Les prises avec minuteur ne fonctionnent pas avec lumière led, les lampes flashent quand supposées être éteinte et l’horloge ne garde pas l’heure ni les programmes de minuteries, doit toujours reprogrammer au bout de 2-3 jours...même chose pour celle que la compagnie m’a renvoyée en remplacement

Works just fine as a normal power bar but I just went to set the timer for the first time and the screen to set the timer is broken and does not turn on. So essentially I bought a regular power bar. It has been too long of me using it without a timer to return or I would.

works great, well designed. its running the lights on my aquarium in my room. operates completely silently. a little hard to program the first time but if u just carefully follow the instructions you'll figure it out. tons of programming options if you're looking to set up something more complex than just 12hours on and 12 hours off.

This works wonderfully. I use it to turn lights on in the morning so that I don't have to wake up in the dark. Makes a huge difference when the sun doesn't come up till nine in the morning. One of the outlets always has power, and the other five are connected to the timer. It seems to keep time pretty well, and the clock and timer are easy enough to set.

I have had this running on a humidifier for a year now and it has worked flawlessly! No more expensive time of use electricity for me. I also have a couple of tool battery chargers on it to keep them topped up. Definitely going to order more.I will admit it wasn't the easiest to program but it has held it's program through many power outages so I can't complain too much.
