TaoTronics - Enhance Your Life Frequently Asked Questions: 1-Connected everything but it’s not working. Any ideas? Lights need to be turned on with the Remote. Notice: Please use with the Remote pointing to the remote receiver. 2-Can I use one control for the 2 strings installed in my dorm room? (Not joined, separately). Yes. Our remote sends and receives the same signal, so one remote can be used to control multiple strands. 3-My remote is broken (dog chewed it), can I buy a new one or would I have to buy the lights again? Adds a warm glow
This item is as described and works as expected. Having enjoyed many Tao Tronics lighting products in the past, I purchased the brand again. I used this 66' string of 200 tiny LED lights to go around the top edge of my living room walls (close to the ceiling). I don't have overhead lighting in my home which was built in 1975, so I have to get creative and these lights are my go-to for that purpose. The lights come wrapped around a 3" tube. The remote, lights and AC adapter are included. To use the remote you remove a plastic tab (keeps the battery from engaging) and it's all pretty self-explanatory from there. It should be noted that ALL fairy light sets are made with a very fine wire and small LED lights. They are fragile and need to be handled accordingly. If you will be tugging or twisting them, you may stress the wiring and cause weak spots. Just be thoughtful when unwrapping them (get a friend to help if you can - especially with a really long strand such as this one) and you'll be OK. I put up my string lights solo, but I found that if I only unrolled what I needed, then slowly unwrapped more - it worked fine. I also used clear 3M Command hooks (smallest size) as anchor points on my living room walls which worked well.TIP: If you have an outlet switch that turns an outlet off and on, you can set these lights to 'on' via the remote and switch them off and on via the wall switch. There will be a slight delay. These lights are a great way to add ambient light to any space. They don't get hot and this generous 66' size is perfect for a small living room, bedroom, den or wrapping around the Christmas tree. Highly recommend them!

Save some Power and Beautiful Light
I ordered two of these with the same part number from the same seller, and the power draw was about 2 watts on one and 5 watts on the other. This was with both strands set to the same power level. As expected, one strand was brighter than the other and slightly different white balance. I checked both strands and the part numbers were identical, but they came in slightly different boxes. My hunch is they have different suppliers for them that don't match exactly. It might be worth buying a couple extra strands to be sure they are all the same output. That being said, these lights make wonderful Christmas lights that you can leave on 24-7 without wasting significant power. Both strands draw the same power as a single C7 bulb. Let me repeat that, both these strands to light the entire front edge of my house, draw the same power as 1 bulb from a 25 strand C7 string, which you need 5 strings for equivalent length. They would use 125 times the power as these strands. They do produce a lot more light, but you really don't need much power to to light the front edge of a house, since we aren't trying to illuminate the ground.I like these lights much better than the junk converted LED strands that don't have full wave rectification (i.e., those strands flicker). These lights are DC powered so absolutely flicker free, making them much more pleasing to look at than those flickering LED strands that make them look dim and irritating to look at.I installed along my roof with the typical light install alligator clips and wrapped the line around once each clip, with each clip about 2 feet apart. This has held up well, even in wind that pulled some of my siding off.My only complaint? I really wish they connected to one another to extend the length out.

Great, but very fragile.
I would have given this 5 stars, but they're just SO fragile. I bought these to put around the inside perimeter of my pergola. I was using the staple gun to attach to the house and BAM, the staple severed the motha F-ing wire. $^&#@%$! My idiocy for using a staple gun, but i couldn't figure out how to do it otherwise. I figured there HAD to be a way to fix it..... and sure enough, i figured it out (I'll explain in a bit). Hooray! So, lights were on, i started attaching them around being very careful with the damn staple gun. I had 2 spots left to attach and it happened again. #@@$*&%#@!!!!! This time, i couldn't fix it because the severed area was too far from the end. So now i get to order more, because i had my heart set on these. This time, after brain storming, i will put nails or screws into the house and wrap the lights around those. {Sigh}.I will update my posting after i get my new set.How to fix: if you sever the wire toward the end of the line (not corded end), you can insert the end of the severed wires into the very end.... see photos. I stripped the plastic off slightly and used a wire connector to crimp the wires together.

We LOVED these lights but after only having them on literally ...
We LOVED these lights but after only having them on literally for 4 nights outside the back of our lake house, they stopped working properly. The end of the 66 ft strand starts out strong and then peters out!! They are a TOTAL DUD!!!! My brother bought the 33 ft lights and have had them on all winter, outside in the weather, but mine didn't last the month. I am SUPER sad because my son's high school graduation party is happening in 6 days and the lights aren't working. This party is the reason I bought these lights. We'll see if they make this right.*******UPDATE*****After two months I did receive a new strand of lights that worked perfectly, and that is why I changed my review to 4 stars. It took too long to get the new strand for the event that I originally wanted the lights for, but they did make it right in the end.
