I am a toolmaker by trade, so the first thing I did was check the accuracy of the square on various machinery that we use everyday, as all of our work has to be accurate within .0005 of an inch, in most cases. This square is accurate and very consistent over all of the dimensions that affect its accuracy and squareness. Considering it is mainly designed for woodworking, it is more than accurate enough. Only negative is the high $ price, however the tools and machinery I use daily in a toolroom to make the tools that make thousands of replicated, accurate parts are very expensive and have to be the best...I would have liked to see the stainless steel pins be slightly inset on both sides of the wide shoulder as opposed to pressed in flush on one side and slightly high on the other.

The item arrived on time. The square has a few light scratches. I did check the squareness against my DIN 285 00 and it was square inside and out. As such, it is good for use though esthetics sense it does have a few blemishes.

Like the headline reads, overpriced. but 100% accurate. I understand that Made in USA comes with a higher cost with fantastic quality. The station that holds the tool is made of MDF, for the cost of the tool it should be out of black walnut. I state it is a good quality tool.

Everyone knows this brand is top notch. This square is one of the best, but it shows in the price. Accurate, clear markings, and made very well. I could do without the lavish routed wood plaque if it meant a bit of a price break but it is what it is.
