This break your own geodes set by British fossils is such an excellent set, my kids absolutely love it.In the box you receive 15+ geodes, we got 16 in our set, a set of safety glasses, a clear bag, a mini magnifying glass and a geode information card.The geodes are all good sizes, just a little smaller than a ping pong ball, some are harder to break than others but you just need to take your time so you don’t smash them in to tiny pieces. The best method, as shown on the info card, is to use a chisel and hammer. If you hit carefully around the geode in a line, you’ve got more chance of a clean break resulting in 2 pieces of geode with a very cool crystal interior.A couple of the thinner geodes did break in to smaller pieces but a majority did break in 2 half’s.Be careful when picking up the pieces too as they can have very sharp edges. Always assist your kids when breaking them open and make sure they’ve got the safety glasses on as pieces can shatter very easily.You can also break your geodes in a bag if you wish, this will be the safest method which eliminates the chance of any pieces shooting off.Overall, this is a fantastic geode kit, perfect for those who love fossil hunting, stone collecting or for anyone with an interest in science. This set is fun, exciting and educational and would make a great gift for any children. There are loads of geodes to break open, the magnifying glass is great for viewing the crystal structures inside and the little bag is perfect for storing your favourite geodes for your travels.

These are such good fun but are actually pretty tough to crack so find a solid surface that won't get damaged and maybe do them outside.My set included the minimum 15 geodes promised and were all different shapes and sizes with some even having holes in so that you could see the crystals inside.Amazing to think these are potentially millions of years old.A lovely set for anyone of any age that is interested in natural formations and crystals.There were some really super ones in the set and the odd one may get set in resin to make a special display.Great value experience.

The geodes box arrived in great condition and had everything as described on the listing inside! For the price, I was expecting much smaller geodes but these are great. A couple were harder to break than others but after giving a little more force it was worth the wait - the crystals inside are fab! Overall, I’m very happy and I’m looking forward to displaying some of my beautiful broken geodes :)
