Works perfectly during power outages
Gives you sufficient time to shut down a computer gracefully during a power outage. If it is a brief outage, keeps the equipment running through the outage.

Great little unit
This model was purchased four years ago. It is working, and has been called upon to do its job several times per year. That being said, there is a tool for every job and any UPS should be purchased with this principle in mind. We have mature trees in our community. In a given year we experience several power outages, dips and spikes. This unit was purchased specifically to protect one desktop system that requires under 50w of power, with the monitor and printer placed in surge protector only outlets. The goal was to protect the hardware, guard against data loss and have ample time to perform an orderly system shutdown in the case of a power outage. This unit has met our requirements.I'm writing this review now for two reasons: I recently purchased a new, and larger, UPS to protect two additional systems added to our network, and I've found most reviews on UPS units in general to be unhelpful. I will provide two buyer tips for any UPS: A UPS should not be purchased as a substitute for a generator, and know that the more power drawn from any UPS will shorten it's run time before failure. In other words, buy a UPS with enough capacity to run all of your devices for the time you require in your specific application.

No battery replacement when it goes out.
No battery replacement even though website teases there is one. Mine lasted about 3 years. It just died overnight, the only thing plugged into it all this time was the PC, just a Dell, no gaming stuff. When it worked, it was great for power surges and outages, although I was never at the computer when we had an outage. When hurricane Irma came through I unplugged the electronics anticipating power surges.

Bad battery keeps trying to charge and gets hot.
Get what you pay for. Lasted a year and a half then battery went south with no warning. When power blipped it died. When power came back on it just kept trying to charge, checked the battery and it was hot. This thing was just sucking electricity for nothing. I've had APC units that cost a few dollars more and work great for years. Only found one place on line where I might get a battery for this unit for $30. Instead I went out and paid $15 more to get a APC.
