it was fairly easy for me to build this. but i am used to assembling things( i did it for a living for many years). it does a decent job engraving and can cut some paper. the 200 mw laser is a little under powered and plan to upgrade asap. but it works great and is fun to use once i got the hang of it. one thing i ran into was it was printing backwards and i discovered that i had the two motors that move it back and forth where hooked up backwards.

Product was defective. Tried to use it to burn on wood slices which is listed on uses, would not work for more than 20 min before laser burned out. Save your money
