Light & Motion Urban 1000 FC Bike Headlight

I use this for trail riding. It was significantly cheaper than the trail version, and I couldn't tell what the difference would be (maybe the diffusion pattern?). It's plenty bright for trails though and works as expected so far (I usually ride at 500 lumens unless I'm going downhill but I avoid technical downhills in the dark). Hoping that the battery holds up for a long time but time will tell. It stays mounted to my handlebars well and is easy to get on and off.1 yr update: I've started using this more often for road/gravel riding. I pretty much leave it in the pulse mode unless I start riding in the dark then I'll switch to 500 lumen. The 500 lumen seems almost as bright as 1000 to me and is enough/has longer batter life. I've never run out of battery but do make sure to keep it topped off (though my kids sometimes get ahold of it). Still running great. Only complaints would be I wish there was a faster pulse option (the pulse is a slow fade in and out and seems more suited to night riding/not sure how attention grabbing/bright it is in the daytime where I'm going for visibility). also wish it came in all black, but that's just cause my bike's blacked out...

The media could not be loaded. I bought this product to help me stay visible in my commutes, and night group rides. I love the size and weight of this bright light; it comes with GoPro mount making it easy to mount under my Garmin and keep out of the way. Ran the light on medium brightness and it was plenty of light to see the road and be visible specially with the side lights.

I have used a Niterider lumina 650 lumen light for 2 years now. This one is a 1000 lumen light - but noticeably smaller and lighter than the niterider. This is a huge plus, Also like the fact that it improves visibility from the sides as well. It comes with the gopro style mount which reduces clutter on my handlebar. I see it has a high and low setting - but haven't seen a pulse mode - which it claims to have and I will fiddle with it a little more to find out how to use. Overall I like this unit!

I like that this light fits in a go pro mount under my garmin. It is very bright and lasts long enough for me to get home. It automatically goes to the lower light setting when the battery life is getting low. However, I am unable to open the door to the charge port without wedging a screwdriver or other hard object since I am not willing to sacrifice finger nails to charge the light. The door came off altogether at one point after I had pried it open. Mine seems to only have 2 modes, high and low, no pulse and this makes it useless as a daytime running light.

Not only do I appreciate the intelligent design, with a clean, simple aesthetic, but the amber side lights are a unique feature the competition lacks. The 1000 lumens lights up the front like a car headlight, and the amber sides make you visible thru a full 270 degrees. Light & Motion is clearly the premium design standard. I'm very pleased with my new Urban 1000.

The media could not be loaded. I been using light and motion for years, constantly improving their line of lights. This one is really cool with the side marking orange which is a great help for cars approaching. The light is super light and super bright

Ant half of the light fell off while riding my bike. I recovered it and tried put it back. For the m0ment narrow slit between ant half and post half of the light worries me about water shielding. So, I bought another Urban 1000 which does not have any split between ant and post half.

Just got the light in the mail, just sharing first impressions here and will update after I’ve used it some.Upon opening light seems sturdy, mount that comes with it appears to be pretty solid. BUT when I opened up the port for charging the ‘cover’ for the micro usb is so lightly attached to the light it should not even have an attachment it’s so loosely attached. Should I try finding a replacement one before even using since this thing will be missing in no time. Really disappointed in something marketed as all weather has the most important all weather component attached where when open and charging if you sneezed in the same room would fall off and potentially go missing. I will make sure I remove and store in a safe place, but know eventually it will get lost since it’s a tiny unattached price to the light....... hopefully the light brightness and beam quality make up for this....
