DEWALT 20V MAX* XR Hammer Drill Kit, Tool Connect Bluetooth, Tool Only (DCD997B)

I've had corded half inch drills and ran them till they died. This one has just as much power or more than the corded ones. I use it with a 9 ah 20-60 max battery, which is pretty heavy. Works well. Major amount of torque, so be prepared for it to rotate. The offhand rotatable handle fits tightly and can be adjusted to any angle for left or right hand. The handle is often needed. THe chuck is easy to tighten by hand. The clutch release detents are easy to feel and see. The trigger is variable speed and easily controlled. This pupply with a big battery is heavy, so you won't be comfortable using it overhead one handed. At shoulder level and below, no problem. Most of my battery powered tools are "green" with envy. As the low cost "green" tools wear out, I'm going yellow with the replacements. Odd marketing issue? The Dewalt brand tools are in all the big box stores, so competition on price is awesome. If you buy a tool with only one store carrying it as a "house" brand, odds are sales will be less frequent. I put four stars on value for money, as the system is not as extensive as I would like, and the batteries lock you into a particular line of tools. I don't like fielding three to four different chargers and keeping track of batteries for that many formats is a pain, so judge the line of tools you need, and invest in the batteries accordingly.

Love this drill. I bought it mainly because of its Bluetooth capabilities. I like the fact that I can adjust the setting of the drill and save them through my phone. Drill is extremely powerful and like all dewalt products they are all quality built.

This drill is rediculous!! Replaced a brushed model I had that the chuck stripped out. This made easy work of everything I asked it to do. It has become my favorite tool, and its not even close. I am a tool junkie with who owns many platforms (Milwaukee, Makita, Ridgid). This is by far the best drill I own. Was drilling 3/4" holes through brick, block and concrete and it was like a hot knife through butter. To say that I am pleased would be an understatement. TIP OF THE CAP TO DeWALT. AND IT DOESNT SUCK THAT ITS ASSEMBLED IN THE USA!!!

A little background is needed to validate my review. I'm no contractor but a firm believer in the right tools make the job easier and a lover of tools. I Have owned many power tools I started with a Dewalt corded drill many years back and moved away from the brand and came back with my first true hammer drill. This is my 3rd Dewalt hammer drill and it has so far impressed me so much I ran out and bought other connected tools. I love being about to tell if I left it at a client after a TV or router install or if it's in the work van or home. I don't think ill be messing with the speed settings anytime soon but I do love that I'm able to do so if I wished. The only thing I wish it has was an Audible sound not just the lights flashing. I almost forgot to mention​ it can tell you the bather level and drill temp and send you alerts via the app.

Good HD drill, will hold up to commercial use!

Just upgraded to the DCD997 and I love it. My previous was 18V and the 20V is much better! I an upgrading all my tools to 20V! It's relatively light, built like a tank and the BT feature is nice. It you still use 18V, upgrade now!

Use this hammer drill to install irrigation controllers on block walls and other items on concrete or stucco surfaces.

I only using it less than a month but it makes my job more easier.
