Cuts through stems like butter! I love ratchet cutters of all types. These are terrific! As a women with aging hands I need garden tools that work. These work! The handles fit my hands and are easy to do continuous cuts. They make clean cuts, no furred eadges on green stems. these cut through dry, dead wood up to 1 inch and through green, live stems up to 1 1/2", because of the ratchet system. The aluminum body cleans and dries quickly. One comment is that the locking mechanism is kind of hard to slide closed: I have to close the the pruners "just right" in order to slide the locking mechanism. Sliding it locked is easy, I just have to get the pruners closed exactly right.

I have problems with strength of hands and wrists. The ratchet does all the work.This is my second one, tools for the front yard, and tools for the backyard.

The pliers operate fine but the handles are small. Can’t get a good grip on them for cutting.

The media could not be loaded.  Feels good in the hand, good construction and materials, cuts as expected.

I Am happy with the clippers. Works great for heavy duty branch clipping. Apple trees, pine, maple, etc. Works on smaller branches too but I prefer a lighter scissor like pruner for garden plants and flowers. My only complaint is, I damaged the blade trimming near the ground. Sand must have chipped the blade, my fault. My only complaint is, I cannot find replacement blades for this product. If I buy a new pair, it will be a brand that sells new blades.

I love these cutters. My first pair got mixed up with debris I was burning. You can burn when you live in the country. I bought my second cutter. Months later I found the burned cutters. All the plastic was gone but they still worked fine. After years of use my second cutter just wore out. So this is my third cutter and it is amazing. I have used it to cut tree suckers, smaller limbs, and cut vines for making wreaths. You can’t go wrong with these.

I can lock it, but only barely.. if I squeeze very hard. I'm a grown strong man and found this to be difficult to lock. Everything else was awesome about it.

So great to flip it when pruning to cut big or small branches. I like the grips, and the handles are long enough to help arthritic fingers.
