This style ignitor takes a AA battery (not included) the original factory part was corroded by the battery leaking acid. Perhaps the battery condition should be checked periodically. It was pretty easy to install this ignitor. Just remove the battery cover/ignitor button, plastic collar nut then push the old part through the back. Easy to access by sliding the cabinet door open and reaching under. Simply wiggle and pull each of the 5 wires loose while holding the ignitor in your other hand. (a little effort may be required as they're kind of tight) Then drop the old ignitor. Reverse procedure to install replacement. Be sure that each wire is pushed on securely. Dont lose the collar nut. Remember the battery. That's it. Easy enough. Works great. Sure beats using matches or a lighter.

Ok, I purchased a Nextgen grill about a year ago and the igniter quit working, not the grills fault, all me. What goes with BBQ'ing? Drinking... bad combo!!! So I really don't like using those long lighters, to many lost eyebrows... This was a perfect replacement. It was a little tricky to replace but patients and a little wiggling will get it in place. Hopefully, this one will last a little longer. I think we had a stake burn out one night and the grill got really hot and due to igniters close proximity to the burners we think that caused the first one to fail. Will work hard to make sure that don't happen again, no promises. Amazon had it here in a day so it if happens I am set. LOL

I bought this item because I thought the existing unit on my Charbroil grill was not working. The 4 year old battery went dead. When I replaced with a new battery, I looked but there were no markings to indicate polarity. So I did what I thought looked right. And it still did not work. I received this unit, installed the battery the same way, as there were no polarity marking or instructions. And it did not work. I reversed the battery and it worked. This unit is polarized! The battery plus should go on the cap or outside end. PS My old unit worked when I reversed the battery. I'll keep this for a spare.

This dropped in perfectly in the hole under the grill. It was simple to unplug the old one and plug in the new one to the leads. Fixed the electric start problem instantly. Uses one AA battery.

I have a Ducane Affinity 3100 grill. The igniter failed a few years ago and I've been lighting the grill with a butane lighter. I finally got around to looking for a replacement igniter. The stock one is a four terminal that Ducane used on both the 3100 and 4100. On the 3100 they just left one terminal unused. I bought the Shinestar 3 because I couldn't see any reason to get a four terminal. It took a grand total of about 5 minutes to remove the old igniter and install the new one. I put in a battery and it worked fine. Great value.

This Igniter fits perfectly for a Grill Master model; 720-0737. (with 3 burners and a side burner) Only time will tell about the quality and longevity... but the price was reasonable. It is nice that I don't have to find a lighter, or hunt matches when I want to grill every time. I use my grill about twice monthly, and the side burner gets used if the power goes out during the winter > for soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Was listed as replacement for our Grill Master Grill with 5 igniters. Almost a perfect fit. Original spark generator module had all 5 igniter outlets on the same side. This module has 3 on on side and 2 on the other. Fortunately there was enough lead length on 2 of the igniter probes to re-route to the far side. Otherwise this was an easy and economical fix for our grill without resorting to matches or a butane lighter.

This was a replacement on my char-griller duo 5050 grill. It fit perfectly and was very easy to install. I have 3 burners on my grill and a wire going to each from the igniter. The connections on this igniter matched up perfectly to the connections on the wires from the burners. You can actually see and hear the improvement in the spark generated to light the burners. Very pleased in every respect, and the price was extremely reasonable.
