Fatally flawed - does not work with Apple TimeCapsule latest generation 2.4GHz network
I've owned the original 'P1' KooGeek plug with no problems. However, I upgraded to this new 'P2' model and it wouldn't pair through HomeKit. My network is 2.4GHz and run by an Apple Airport TimeCapsule 802.11ac base station broadcasting in 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The device registration process in HomeKit stalls, and the P2 plug never joins the network. I emailed Koogeek, but after 3 days there was no response. I returned the first plug to Amazon and got a second one; same problem as before. The firmware in these must be buggy. My WiFi network name is simple, and so is my password (no spaces or special characters). I don't think the fit and finish on the software/firmware is polished/refined. Koogeek's own app intro screen boldly features a typo (using the word "Rome" instead of "Roam") which, coupled with its rough usability, does not inspire confidence in their quality control, as least as far as software is concerned. The app is somewhat amateurish. I'm afraid I have to return this second plug as well, as it just won't join the network. This is one of a dozen HomeKit devices I've owned, and the only one that's shown any problems being registered with HomeKit.

They need to be unplugged and plugged back in for them to work for a few minutes. They don't work. I returned them.
I have a few P1 version (version 1) of these outlets. They worked fine on my iPhone and iPad. We bought an Alexa so I purchased three of the P2 (version 2) outlets that are Alexa compatible. I was able to set them up and get them working very quickly both on my iPhone and with Alexa. They seemed to work fine until a couple of hours later they weren't responding. Unplugging them and plugging them back in allows them to work again but only for a few minutes. The P1 outlets work just fine but not these. Essentially they are just frustrating junk in my opinion. I wish I could give them 0 stars. They just aren't ready for prime time. Too bad they don't have a firmware upgrade that would make them worth keeping. Horrible horrible customer support. What a colossal waste of time and energy. I returned them.

Serious connectivity and stability issues
From my experience with this product, reliability and steady connectivity has been a real issue with this product. Even though the device is within good range of my WiFi network, other devices around with a steady connection, connection is steady for maybe a day or even less and then drops. Neither the koogeek app nor HomeKit is able to talk to the device and I have to unplug and replug it. I also own the previous bulkier version of this device and it has had a constant steady connection since day one, never had any issues so this is quite the disappointing product. Other then that I do like the energy consumption feature of this device.Update: After several firmware updates, disconnections have stopped completely and the device works seamlessly with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit

Firmware Updates made for rock solid WiFi connectivity
I'm reviewing the Koogeek P2 Smart Plug (2 purchased 9/7/17), but this review includes feedback about the P1 (1 purchased 9/15/16). Initially (with the shipped, imbedded firmware), both Smart Plug models continually disconnected from my 2.4GHz WiFi Network (even though initially getting the Koogeeks on my WiFi Network was a snap without using the Koogeek Home app) and continually required reconnecting by unplugging / plugging units into their electrical outlets.HOWEVER, I have now upgraded the firmware (using Koogeek Home from Apple's iOS App Store) for the P2s to v3.85.1 & the P1 to v2.2.21. [I use Apple HomeKit & my iOS devices are currently using version 11.2.5.]NOW, ALL the Koogeeks work reliably and HAVE NOT ONCE DISCONNECTED since completing the firmware updates back on 1/16/18. Even though it's been 2 weeks since updating the firmware, I am convinced (simply watching how the P2 & P1 activate) the firmware update(s) solved prior WiFi connectivity issues. As result & due to the firmware updates, I am happy to rate these products with 5 Stars as they now fulfill their expectation for reliability, and I now highly recommend. While there are some differences between the P2 & P1, I prefer the P2 as its form factor allows access to the 2d outlet, by a 3-prong connector, on a typical grounded, 2 AC outlet (when the P2 is plugged into the UPPER outlet).NOTE: For anyone having WiFi connectivity issues (with either model), I venture your unit's firmware has not yet been updated. Update straight away! You will be pleased with the result.Update 2/10/19: I purchased (2/7/19) another P2 Koogeek Smart Plug and have now added to my 2.4 GHz Network. Once I updated the P2's firmware, using Koogeek's iOS app, to v3.85.1, this P2 is working as reliably as are all the other Koogeek units have been.Updating the unit's firmware is not difficult using Koogeek's iOS app and which I use only for this updating purpose in addition to the initial set-up configuration. (Otherwise, I use the Home iOS app to manage all my HomeKit devices, including my Koogeek Smart Plugs.) I additionally run a 5 GHz Network; and following Koogeek's instructions, I temporarily turned it Off. This allowed the newest P2 to easily be added to my 2.4 GHz Network (afterwards re-activated my 5 GHz Network). This is all detailed in Koogeek's set-up instructions.I'm surprised by all the negative reviews this product receives. My experience (between 9/7/17 & 2/10/19) with these P2s has been they are rock-solid reliable (once firmware update completed) on my network (never disconnecting), even where these smart plugs are being controlled in Home's Automations. These 3 x P2s & 1 x P1 (older model) are the only smart plugs on my Network as I've experienced their reliability.

FIRMWARE UPDATE - NOW THEY WORK FLAWLESSLY!! - REVISED BACK TO FIVE STARS - NO MORE WiFi dropouts.
REVISED - I am now giving five stars. For a couple weeks on the new firmware update they are now perfect. No more dropouts. (For historical purposes I’m leaving my previous review text as follows) ... I purchased two. When they work, they work brilliantly. However, they tend to drop off the WiFi network, and thus become unavailable to HomeKit (or any other remote functions, automation, or schedules. After being re-added to the network, it usually is no more than a week later until one, or the other, or both, have stopped responding to WiFi again. They usually require being unplugged, and plugged back into the wall in order to rest. On rare occasions, they will re-connect on their own. Hopefully there will be some solution to this issue, otherwise I will soon give up, and move on to a different solution from some other manufacturer.
