Originally the tea of Emperors, white teas are increasing in popularity due to a reputation for quality and unique flavor. Few white teas are as unique as this selection of Organic Bai Mu Dan (also known as Pai Mu Tan and White Peony). This is an eye-catching tea made up of full, whole leaves ranging in color from green to russet to silver. Bai Mu Dan White tea tastes crisp and very much alive; smooth and earthy, with a hint of nut.

Highest Quality
2 lbs. is a LOT of tea, guys. This will probably last me for a year. But the quality is the best, I think. I bought it for its antioxidant properties (as a dietary supplement). I did my research first, and it looks like this tea is grown in a fairly remote rural environment in India, so it may be less exposed to pollution than teas grown in China. (They say that there's really no true "organic" in China, because the water used for irrigation there is often highly polluted . . not to say there's no pollution in India, but the area this is grown in seems to be away from most industry). The tea arrived intact with WHOLE leaves and smelling very fragrant. It's very mellow, and great when steeped with complimentary herbal teas like lemon ginseng or hibiscus.

Great value, good flavor, few buds
This is a lot of tea for a great price, and the tea itself has a good, if somewhat robust, flavor. Bai Mu Dan is classically a "two leaves and a bud" tea, and this tea is not: it is almost entirely single leaves, and very few buds. So, I give it 3 stars only: while the tea is tasty, it's difficult for me (I'm no expert, but a long time Bai Mu Dan drinker) to call this Bai Mu Dan due to its uncharacteristic composition.

I would like the taste a bit lighter and more fragrant
This Bai Mu Dan or White Peony tea is classified as white tea. Cheaper version is called Sou Mei.For the price, and taste, I rate it 4 stars. I would like the taste a bit lighter and more fragrant. Don't know whether it is the intention of the tea master or the packed duration of the stock.Fresh green tea, leaves or powder, is rather expensive. and cannot last long for storage. Darker tea is good after meal, but I seldom drank it alone. So this white tea kind of suitable for casual drinking. And the quality is quite good for the price.Trustworthy tea seller or brand is hard to find. There is not much comparison of quality and price available for us consumers. And Tattle tea at Amazon is a very good product and place to buy.

Love This Tea !!!!!
I was so happy when I found this loose leaf organic white tea. I was slightly skeptical because of the very fair & reasonable price . I've been paying an insane price of $50 for 8 oz from a company from China so when I saw this 2lb bag of certified organic Bai Mu Dan for $40 I decided to try it. I'm so glad I did ! It's absolutely delicious . I'm not a tea tasting expert but I have been drinking green & white loose leaf tea's for several years now, & to me, this is every bit as good as the very expensive stuff, & very high quality . 2 lbs is a large amount ,so to keep it fresh, as it will last me a long time,I am storing it in sealed glass jars. If you love loose leaf white tea like I do I think you'll be happy with this tea !

Taste is okay, lots of twigs and brittle leaves ...
Taste is okay, lots of twigs and brittle leaves, but what concerns me most on the packaging of this organic tea is the warning that “ this product contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm”. Really? In an ‘organic’ tea?

I really love this white tea
I really love this white tea! You get so much for $30 and it lasts forever. I use it to make ice tea blends so I'm not sure how it tastes hot.
