So far so great!
I searched and searched for an affordable flash that was E-TTL compatible with the Canon 80D and came across the NW600EX-RT. There are no reviews here on Amazon so I called the company to verify that it does work with the Canon 80D and they called me back and verified this. The flashes arrived and I immediately mounted one on my Canon and it worked beautifully in E-TTL. I was able to play with the settings on my Canon menu, instead of the flash itself. What I am having issues with is pairing it remotely with my Canon 80D. I ordered the Neewer 16 channel radio trigger set and I hope this remedies the situation because I didn't want to use one flash as a master and the other as a slave, I want two off camera flashes. I may order a third in the future and keep one as a master. As a amateur this flash had me nervous since a Google search will produce little information on it, but I did come to find out that is almost the exact same flash as the expensive Canon 600ex-RT (settings and buttons) and I was able to use tutorials for that flash and learn about using my Neewer flash (I hate manuals). So far so good. Only one issue I am having is it occasionally froze up a couple of times and I had to clear my settings. For now that would not be a problem because it appears I can use a memory function to memorize settings, but I hope this doesn't become a larger issue in the future, otherwise at this point I would of given it five stars. After the triggers arrive and I have had time to practice with those I will update my review.

Nice upgrade from my NW-561
I purchased this flash as an upgrade to my previous model (Neewer NW-561). I can say I am not disappointed. While the NW-561 works perfectly fine, I wanted to take advantage of advanced settings and the ability to use E-TTL. Everything worked as expected. It does take some getting used to the numerous options/menus that are there. You will most likely need to at least skim through the manual. The zoom feature worked great too. Some other things to note..* Compatible with my Canon 80D. The features/functions were all accessible. I know their description said it was .. but sometimes you never know. I confirmed this does work.* I don't know what the construction of a $300 flash feels like and most likely never will. It feels just like any of the others I have had which is fine.* It didn't come with the diffuser like my other one did but did come with a gel. The stand came with both. Oddly enough.. the diffuser from my NW-561 fits this flash..* Fits my hot shoe perfectly just like my other one. Thankfully they changed out the wheel lock to a slide lever. I like this method better.* Amount of control.. from pairing to multi to changing hz, channels output etc.. There are definitely MORE options that I will ever really use.. but they are there. You can even save the settings and load them from memory. This worked fine and I had no issues with it losing the settings.* Batteries.. make sure you do not try and cheap out on the batteries. When it first arrived, I tried the set that were currently in my other flash.. Duracell too.. but mid range batteries which in the NW-561.. lasted a long time. When I put them in this model. they lasted about 30 minutes and were dead. It may have been that they were finally reaching EOL.. I bought another set of Duracell and have had no issues.. was doing some testing/shooting for probably 2 hours between 1/32 - 1/64 power.* The recycle time was quick. They state "Approx.0.1-5.5s,Quick flash:Approx.0.1-3.3s" which was probably right. I did not fire off continuous to try and reach 5 second cycle times but I'm sure as they heat up it would take longer. Mine were on the lower end around 1 second. In the end it works and for $100.. I can't complain.

The flash doesn't work properly. It doesn't turn off unless I take out the batteries and doesn't respond to the camera.

Not good with Canon 80D
Tried to use this with my Canon 80D. It didn't seem to fit well onto the mount but I figured it would be okay. But then it started freezing randomly after a few minutes of using it. I would have to turn off the camera, detach the flash, turn it off, then re-attach it, turn on the camera again, turn on the flash again, and then it would crash and freeze again (it would just stop working and the screen would be frozen and the buttons wouldn't work). I don't know, it just seems sketchy to me. I would just spend the money on a Canon flash honestly.

Great product, do recommend.
Really impressed by the quality and function's you get for the price, this is not my final review as I'll test the flash through it's correct potential in July doing macro photography in rainforest. Overall feel of the product is very premium, a bit weight worthy but doesn't matter much. Already checked twice and all function's work well with my 7d and also in the manual mode. TTL and HSS are really helpful if you are in macro and wildlife. Also could be used as a great fill light for wildlife as can reach upto 200 mm range and you can easily pop a flash extension to increase your reach. This is an exact clone of tge Canon's 600 ex rt so if you don't understand anything in the manual you can download from the cannon website. For me I don't really read manuals, I just jump in and test things out to figure out how it works. Also you can see videos on the same model but any other 3rd party flash company and it's all the same. So YouTube can also be a life saver.Update after heavy use in Ecuador - well worth the money, even works after getting wet in the rain forest, could be used as the master flash in the lineup. Buying another one as a backup as will need it for my multiflash hummingbirds setup. BTW a literal clone of Canon 600 ex-rt, so delivered quite well with my needs.

Does not work with EOS 80D
Firstly, for the money (£49.99) this is a feature packed flash which is reasonably well made - slightly cheaper feeling plastic than the Canon flashes but it is a fraction of the cost so this should not be surprising.Unfortunately I had to return it as it does not work properly with the EOS 80D and possibly other newer cameras. I had a similar problem with my old Yongnuo YN565EX, that also works perfectly with my EOS 650D but not with the EOS 80D. I've had to bite the bullet and get a genuine Canon (used 430EX II) as there seems to have been some changes made on newer Canon EOS cameras that causes issues with third party flashes.

Works like a dream.
I've got to admit I was hesitant in buying this flash but I needed one that did HSS urgently, so what the hell, I can always return it right? Well all my fears were laid to rest after a couple of minutes shooting with it. The flash in HSS, and all other modes, works great with my Canon 6D and my Canon 700D. Both cameres shoot at a max 1/4000s with no problems at all with the flash set to HSS. I can't speak to any other brand all I can say is that it works fantastic on my two cameras as mentioned above

Good Flash Unit, does what the more expensive one does for a fraction of the cost.
Seems like a very capable flash unit, feel of the plastic won't match the quality of the flash it emulates but for approx a tenth of the price of that one I can handle it with kids gloves. I will be buying another later in the year if the price remains as keen as it is now (50 quid).
