Squirrels destroyed anything made of plastic. So many feeders destroyed. This is the only style durable enough to continue to feed my 🪶 friends.

This all metal feeder is truly squirrel proof. The contents also last a long time because it favors the small birds Compared to my other squirrel-proof feeder for black oil, sunflower seed.

This bird feeder is good for lots of different kinds of birdseed; I use a mix of sunflower seeds and berries. It isn't squirrel proof, but hanging a squirrel baffle over it helps. I took off a star because it's little hard to fill without having it collapse into itself while it's open and you are pouring seed into it. Still, I'm happy with it and keeping it.

This is a nice looking, sturdy feeder. The birds really like it. The only downfall is that it collapses in on itself. The top part sinks into the bottom part. Which wouldn't be a big deal, but if it does, you can't pull it up again once seed is inside. Kind of a pain. If there was a "locking" mechanism to keep it from collapsing, it would be 5 stars.

Let me start off by saying this bird feeder gets the job done. It holds seed and enables birds to perch while we get to enjoy a little bird watching. That being said, I think it could use a few improvements to elevate it as a product.First off, the feeder arrived well-packaged , including the feeder and some instructions. The instructions aren't the most thorough, but everything is pretty easy to figure out. I did have to spend some time trying to figure out how to get the feeder to stay in the tall position. I was expecting some sort of locks or something to hold it in place. Instead, it is just held open by gravity. This isn't a problem when it's hanging, but annoying when trying to hold it up and fill it with birdseed on the counter.Second, the mesh on the sides really should be smaller. The holes are large enough that quite a bit of seed escapes out of the sides. Again, not a big deal but could be nicer. Lastly, I'm not at all sure that this is squirrel proof. Nothing in the design looks like it would keep a squirrel at bay for more than three second.All that said, the construction is sturdy and it looks fantastic in the yard. And it seems the birds could care less about my nitpicks as they haven't left it alone since we've hung it up.

True, there is a mechanism to prevent them from opening the top, but they absolutely LOVE clinging to the wire mesh sides and eating to their hearts’ content. In fact, it’s walls are so attractive to critters we now have raccoons going for it at night which we never had before! I’m returning this and going back to the smaller plastic-sided octagonal style. And, as others have mentioned, it’s hard to fill.

The birds are singing everyday. I usually put out 35 pounds of feed per month during the winter. Feeder will certainty get its use.

It’s sturdy and the birds like it.Downside is filling it..you have to hold the top of it up….because it’s a collapsible feeder when not full or hanging up.

The outer sides of the feeder collapse to make storage and shipping easy but makes it extremely hard to fill. You must use both hands for filling....one hand to keep the top cage part fully extended while the other hand fills it. It's almost as if it's missing a piece. My husband had to make modifications on this feeder to make it easier to fill with seed. Otherwise, I would have returned it. I don't recommend purchasing this item.n There are much better feeders out there for this price or less. Over priced for what it is
