Designed by master cat man John Jamison, Rippin Lips' new SuperCat Series feature six carefully selected length/actions, created to conquer the species and situations anglers face daily. While most catfish rods utilize E-glass, the SuperCat Series integrates select S-glass blanks-a lighter, more advanced fiberglass that's stronger and stiffer than its perhaps antiquated counterpart, E-glass. Another key distinction: E-glass was originally designed for non-angling applications, while S-glass was developed expressly for fishing rods. Likewise, S-glass offers nearly twice the modulus of E-glass, resulting in the optimal blend of blank strength, smoothness and sensitivity. Unique among catfishing rods, SuperCat's custom EVA split grip handle yields tremendous balance for battling big fish, plus enhanced power for setting hooks and a comfortable under-arm fit while fishing. When building these rods, Jamison also insisted on extra hard, chrome plated stainless steel guides. (Spinning rod models also feature hard ceramic guide inserts for lighter line applications.) For extra protection and toughness, all guide wraps are epoxy coated. And to assure no bite goes undetected-even at night-all rod tips sport high-visibility glow tips.

A great rod and reel combo
I'm loving this rod, works great and casts great. Just wishing it came into smaller size, but no complaints from me.

Dont buy
If you like fishing for bigger catfish this rod isn't going to work i have tried them numerous times definitely compares to a walmart setup not a good combo for a serious catfisherman if you just need somthing to go rip small channel cat this rods for you not flathead approved

Rippin Lips Fishing Pole
After days of researching poles and reels I decided on purchasing this pole as a Christmas gift for my husband. He liked the pole so much that he asked me to order the other Rippin Lips Pole available on Amazon.

Not worth the extra 20
No better than a Wal-Mart combo, just cost more!!

the finish on the rod did not look as good as the cat casting rod
the reel looked cheap,the finish on the rod did not look as good as the cat casting rod.
