I like the finish on the screw and spacer, very clean. Here you can see the difference between a 1994 era original A2 spacer/screw & this product, identical to each other.A little pricey for me as I only required the screw but, I am thankful for this product. You can tell I had a hard time removing the original screw and I've been desperate to find a replacement. Colt must have used red loctite during manufacturing to prevent this screw from backing out, blue seems like it would be sufficient along with being easier to disassemble.

The spacer is indeed metal, but possibly not steel as claimed. I’ve not confirmed it, but the spacer appears to be anodized aluminum, which.is perfectly fine. In fact, these spacers today are often plastic, so aluminum would be a nice step up from that, and not susceptible to rust as steel would be.The steel screw has the proper drain hole, and that’s good to see. It appears to have a blued finish, as opposed to Parkerizing that I’d have preferred. It also lacks the thread locking ribbon commonly seen on the original screw.This set from Texas Precision Optics appears to be well made, as I’ve found with their products in the past. It’s completely functional, but possibly not the best choice for repairing or restoring a historically-accurate A2 rifle, so I’m giving it four stars.

I can't believe I Stumbled across this A2 Buttstock spacer and gas port screw set on amazon. $5 for both!! WOW. On sum other websites it's $5.00 for each piece. I thought what do I have to loose... Well Nothing, as even the quality is amazing. I figured, so what if the spacer is messed up it's hidden in the stock anyway. But very nicely machined. I can't wait to use it on my next build.
