Miso Paste with Malted Rice(Gozen), Japanese Traditional Fermented Food, Low Sodium, Easy Squeezable Tube (350g)【YAMASAN】

I bought it once half a year ago and liked it very much. Excellent miso for miso soup and salt alternative for different sauces! So I ordered it again just recently (again barley version) and I knew something was wrong the moment I saw the package. I saw that inside was something akin to thick soup rather than paste, and it does look like thick soup when you squeeze it out. The taste in the soup is rather bland (reduced saltiness is spot on though) but no pronounced texture. I can understand why someone may like to have liquid shibori miso, easier to use for sauces etc, but for me this change was a disappointment, it was an excellent product before (the product images here on Amazon already reflect how the new paste looks like, I’m almost certain the previous product images were different)P.S. I found a photo of the first package that I bought, and although the lightning on the photo is different you can see that the color was a richer brown and it really was a paste not a soup (last photo here with Brussels sprouts)リピートしません。P.P.S. Some other miso pastes from this seller are great!

So far tried with Arctic Char and Black Cod. Delicious.
