Makes it easy to ice down your shoulder without help.
It's hard to get cold gel packs properly aligned on one's own shoulder, and pressed close enough to the skin to actually make the shoulder cold, with drugstore apparatus. I had been doing it for weeks before I finally threw up my hands in frustration, bit the bullet and bought this thing. This sling does a fantastic job. It's solidly built, with big hard plastic hardware; thick, wide straps; and tenacious velcro. And the chill pack is well constructed, too, with good velcro to keep it fixed to the inside of the sling.Although it works best with the included chill pack, I have also had perfectly acceptable results putting the sling on my arm, sliding a couple of rectangular gel packs I already had down into the sling, snugging the thing up on my shoulder and inflating the bladder. It's the bladder that really makes this thing great: the chill pack is not simply being held near the skin; it's being pushed ONTO the skin. The heat transfer is much more efficient this way.I would definitely recommend setting the arm straps ONCE, at a circumference that will slide onto the arm but will snug up once the bladder is inflated. If you try to reapply the straps every time you put the thing on your arm, I think it will tend to get frustrating, trying to keep the sling in position while trying to get the velcro right. The arm straps should definitely be treated as a "set it and forget it" kind of thing.I wish there were some clip somewhere on the sling where I could hang the bulb once I'm done inflating. Having the bulb swinging around in front of me is less than ideal. But it's not enough to detract from the overall usefulness of this product.

Highly-effective, deep, cold-hug on those painful areas
I sought out this solution after closing the browser on another that was $199....boy was I glad I did. This wrap covers all the painful areas and embraces you in a firm, deep, cold-hug. Some reviewers complain about the hole at the top of the shoulder, but I found this inconsequential. I wish I could wear it longer, but it is so effective, I have to remove it after about 7 minutes. It will immobilize your shoulder, so don't think you can work at your computer or something while you wear it...just relax and let it work. The first time my husband put it on me, it was a bit of a puzzle, but then it was easier; the instructions are not really helpful. It is equally effective on either shoulder. It is sturdy and well-made. The ice pack attaches into the form with two Velcro strips; it doesn't go anywhere. I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for an all-emcompassing ice compression experience for both sides of the shoulder/rotator cuff pain.

Wonderful product for post surgery or injured shoulder
This is a wonderful product for injured shoulders or after surgery. I got this for my husband who had just undergone rotator cuff surgery and also has issues with the shoulder he did not have surgery on. The difference between using this and trying to use regular ice packs was amazing. Initially after surgery we were trying many combinations of ice packs and nothing seem to work well. He either couldn’t get them exactly how he wanted on the area or he couldn’t move for fear they would fall off. We searched for a better solution and found this product. It really helped relieve his swelling and discomfort and 4 weeks out from surgery he is still using it. He would use this in conjunction with heat and his shoulder exercises given by the physical therapist with great results. This product really helped with the discomfort and was immediately noticeable after each use that there was relief.Pros:Easy to useMuch cheaper than high end alternativesPortableAbility to add air to “tighten” on shoulderSecurely stays on so you can go about your dayVery effectiveCons:I don’t really have any complaints about this product! The only recommendation I have is to remember to let the air out after you are done using it so it goes on easy the next time.

Sturdy and effective
Sturdy and effective. I sustained a severe shoulder injury a few years ago that left me with latent pain from multiple sources (muscle, bone ache, etc). I have to say, this brace is fairly accommodating. The compression is very supportive, and the removable ice pack is a great touch when needed. My only complaint is that strap work isn't the best that I've had from a brace, but it isn't terribly bad. Additionally, the company is very dedicated, and initiated contact ensuring not only that I was satisfied with the product, but also providing a video to aid in product use and application.

Good, but has a few design flaws.
Bought this to aid in rotator cuff strain recovery and general shoulder soreness.### Pros- Compression bladder is good at keeping the gel pack against skin- Very well made (strong velcro, wide soft straps, comfortable material)- Gel pack sits well on shoulder and doesn't shift around (as long as you keep your arm out at a 90 degree angle)### Cons- Arm straps are sewn on and work better for left shoulder placement. If you are placing it on your right shoulder, it can be difficult to do without help. You have to try and strap the thing on from the back. Fully removable straps would have been better because they would allow you to tighten from the front of the brace. If you are going to use on your left shoulder, this wont be an issue.- Brace does not sit well above the shoulder without your arm out at a 90 degree angle from your body. Once you start applying compression, cold contact above the shoulder gets less and less, to the point of nonexistence, unless you raise your arm... Since my shoulder is above my heart already, there shouldn't be a need to elevate it further... Doing so just aggravates it more than needed.### RecommendationIf you need it for your left shoulder, get this.If you dont mind keeping your arm lifted to a 90 deg angle, get this.Otherwise, look for a similar brace without the design flaws above and provides better shoulder coverage.

Defect!
The Wrap is a good fit but the air bladder was puncture so couldn't keep air pressure. I returned it and pay shipping fee.
