821-1480-A 821-2049-A New HDD Hard Drive Cable for MacBook Pro 13" A1278 Year 2012

After struggling to install the latest 10.13 on my internal SSD drive in my MacBook Pro, and having slow performance from a second drive I tried, I determined that the hard drive cable in my 2012 MacBook Pro 13" must have gone bad. It got to the point where I couldn't even boot the computer. Found this replacement cable here on Amazon for a very low price, and following the install instructions at ifixit, have my computer humming along just like new (better than new, actually, because the SSD drive makes this computer so much faster). I didn't realize these hard drive cables can go bad in a few years. I read of another guy who is on his 3rd cable, after having his fixed one time previously by Apple under AppleCare, and this time out of warranty so he replaced it himself. I have two of these 13" MacBooks in the family, may just pick up a spare cable for $8 to keep on hand in case this happens again.Can't speak to the longevity as I just installed it, but I am thrilled to have my MacBook working again (after being down for over a week -- took me a while to diagnose the cable as the problem). If I have any issues, I will report back. But for now, this is a 5-star product.
