Love, love, love
I found this product when I was searching for another gluten free breakfast alternative. I had been eating Rice Chex for years for breakfast, but after the reports of high levels of arsenic in rice products, I decided to search for something else. Found this originally in a specialty shop and gave it a try. It's really delicious. Very similar to oatmeal in texture, but the taste is much better - a little nuttier and more crunchy. I add a little milk and honey, but you could add fruit to it too. Also, after reading up on buckwheat, I found out how marvelous it is for you. Very high in protein and other nutrients. And it's also easy to make. It's always 1 part buckwheat to 3 parts water. So I use a 1/2 cup buckwheat with 1-1/2 cups water and microwave it for 3 minutes. It's very filling and lasts me until lunch.

Tasty hot cereal
I have missed the Cream of Wheat that I ate as a child - I won't buy it today as it is highly processed with almost no fiber. This BRM cereal is essentially cream of buckwheat and is a great alternative to cream of wheat. It has high fiber and much better nutrition than cream of wheat. I like the nutty taste and it is easy to prepare in the microwave. It reheats well, if making a bigger batch. I do like it mixed with oat or barley flakes (prior to cooking) - 2 Tbsp Creamy Buckwheat + 1 Tbsp oats. It is good made with a water:milk blend and also nice with some coconut milk added as well. Can be dressed up with raisins, berries, coconut, nuts.

This is becomming a habbit
I went through the first box (several packages in each) fairly quickly and am working on my second now. The Bob's is at least as good as the others I've tried and the price is better. Here's how I like mine - nice and soft like grits: Use 1.75 cups of water for a half cup of buckwheat (package suggests 3:1). Barely boil the water with the top on to retain the steam. Stir the buckwheat and a couple of pinches of salt into the water. Turn the heat to low & leave the top on. Check and stir every minute until you are certain it won't "foam up" and top the pot. You'll know it's ready because it "firms up" (like grits or more firm). I also like to take a teaspoon full of butter and put it in the bottom of the bowl before dropping the buckwheat on top, so the butter is on the bottom. A couple-three shakes of hot sauce across the top gives me three layers of taste - hot, bland with a little salt, and then butter. I'm a big eater and this seems to keep me full from about 7AM until noon. I wish I could make it at work to last the rest of the day!

A nice change from oatmeal
The serving size is 1/4 cup which sounds a bit small, but after cooking you'll find a bowl full of creamy goodness. For my tastes, as I like things spicy, this cereal lends itself to plenty of pepper and hot sauce for a kicked up breakfast. Fresh fruit is a good option as well. I also add flax seed meal for added omega 3's. The Amazon subscription option is a no brainer....price discounts and free shipping! Delicious and nutritious.

Wonderful start to the day!
This came last night and I couldn't wait to try it this morning. What a treat! I put a splash of Orchata in this with a pat of butter and a dose of whole milk to make it creamy. Oatmeal is too heavy and the instant full of food coloring and sugar. I always liked the texture of cream of wheat but it has an odd after taste to me. This has no after taste but a mild nutty goodness that takes on spices nicely. The texture of the cereal is nice too. It has the creamy element like cream of wheat and the small pieces like oat groats only softer but still chewable. The prep time is appealing. I nuke a quarter cup with just over 1 cup of water for 2 minutes. Let stand another 2. Add flavorings and here you have instant breakfast. The other thing I like about Buckwheat is that it doesn't cause gas later in they day like oat and wheat products tend to do.This will become a staple in my pantry. I like this so much I went to Bob's website and bought their 25 pound bag.

quite tasty with cardamom, extra virgin olive oil and almond milk
Sometimes I eat a bowl of buckwheat cereal twice a day, because it's so convenient to prepare. I simply add water and microwave it for 3 minutes. Then I add about a teaspoon of cardamom (perhaps some people could do with less), about a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and milk--any kind would do, but skim or almond is of course healthier than whole milk. Granted, cardamom is little pricy, but since I'm on a budget, I purchase it at a locale Indian grocery store. The combination is great while the calorie count is low. I pair this with Ezekiel sprouted bread, toasted, with almond butter. Very filling. Btw, I find that Trader Joe's has the best price on Ezekiel products.

Ok
The flavor takes some getting used to. It is good, but I would rather have the oat bran.
