Finally a quiet and industrial design-grade value drive
After suffering several and seemingly inevitable self-destruction of WD external drives and even expensive RAID storage arrays—typically 2-5 months after warranty expiration—it was time for a change.This is my 2nd Porsche-branded USB 3.x external drives and so far they “just work.” Remarkably quiet and elegantly designed devices that perform well within specifications. So far I would recommend them as a great deal for the money vs. mass-produced plastic competitors.

Huge capacity but portable !
This external drive is portable yet its capacity is huge. It starts working right out of the box. Love it.

Complete Garbage
Complete and utter garbage. DOA, no use at all completely dead paperweight is more descriptive. AVOID, waste of money time and effort.

setup is required and you might not like how it goes
the full 6 TB of the hard drive is essentially locked until after you run the bundled setup app. that resulted in 400 GB usable and the other 5.6 TB inaccessible. it required use of the diskutil command in the terminal to partition and format the thing. then i could use the GUI disk utility to re-partition and reformat it. the full 6 is usable, it's fast. purrs like a toyota.

Failed in 9 months.
After 9 Months of working well, the drive and an error that my MacBook couldn't repair. This is disappointing as it is my main storage and backup drive to my laptop.

I think Lacie is the best
I have the 1 terabyte and the 60 lb and I think Lacie makes the best storage drives out there
