I've been looking for black, square dishes with square bowls, forever. For some reason the square dishes were always paired with round bowls. Why? Anyway, I ordered these on the 17th and they arrived on the 20th - this is super fast delivery for Hawaii. Also, I took a chance that they would travel that distance intact. As luck would have it, they were all in one piece! They're beautiful. The sheen, color and design is lovely. My husband even said, "I love these!" Which shocked the heck out of me because I don't think I've ever gotten more than a, "it's alright," and usually a, "meh," out of him. But they are very nice. There were a few teeny, tiny scratches on a couple of the large plates, but honestly they were so small you could only see them under the brightest light and only if you were looking for them. The base of the dishes had some rough textures in a few small areas, so we took a 3M green scrubber to those areas and smoothed them out so they wouldn't scratch each other as we stacked them. This worked very well. 2 of the plates had a very slight wobble, but we use placemats or a tablecloth, so it isn't an issue for us. All-in-all, these dishes are a great, look, quality and value for the money and I'm so happy I finally got my square bowls. I highly recommend. I'll do an update if they chip easily, but so far, so good.

I ordered 12 total of this set. I wanted place settings that didn't have coffee mugs with them as I already have 3,735 coffee vessels in my house (or it seems like it...)Tip #1 - if wanting more than 4 place settings, watch the pricing. When I ordered, the best deal was three of 4 place setting sets rather than the 8 + 4 or 12-piece place settings. There's enough variation in each set that different shipments didn't matter. Play with the pricing to get the best deal.All three shipments arrived safely without any breakage. They were packed well and survived my UPS driver's tendency to throw boxes over our gate AND my 11 year-old having to carry them down a long driveway...These are heavy/thick and beautiful in color. Some within the same set were more blue than green and vice-versa. I love the variation. They are a reactive glaze, so the squares that add sturdiness on the bottom show through on some and the edges aren't perfect. Closely look at the pictures in the listing as they show the variations and squares that show through from the bottom of the plates.The bowls are a good size, and I am a new fan of pasta dishes (although those are harder to fit in my dishwasher.) So far they've held up well with teenagers using and washing them daily.

Beautiful set, but bowls broken. Doesn't offer a refund for them and doesn't look like they sell bowls separately. Bummer

These are so pretty! I just replaced the hand-me-down set of dishes I’ve had for years. I couldn’t be more pleased. So far they’ve come through the dishwasher and microwave just fine.

Though many of the bowls came broken because of amazons handling, the seller is very great in making sure I got my problem resolved quickly. I would buy these again.

I received the dishes today. And let me start out by saying they are beautiful. Heavy ceramic (?) I think. colored and shaped just lovely. I was so excited to get them They arrived pretty fast. But, the gorgeously squared and deep bowls were packed on the bottom and arrived broken. So sad!!! I'm hoping to look and see if I can find replacement bowls. But otherwise, I just love this set!

I ordered 2 sets of the blue/black, I received them but unfortunately some were broken, but I had received an email from the co. Letting me know if my shipment was damaged, to let them know and to send them a picture and they will replace them. I had my dishes immediately. I love the dishes and I highly recommend their product along with their great customer service. Great job Vancasso!
