I've been using this for a few days now, and while it does a decent job, it's not as good as an electric heating pad.This unit loses heat too fast as opposed to my electric heating pad which has adjustable heat temperatures and maintains consistent heat. I have a 1200 watt microwave oven and I have to set it to 30-40 seconds to get decent heat on the gel pack (the instructions state 20 seconds). Another annoyance is that the gel pack doesn't stay taut inside the pocket. It tends to bunch up at the bottom so it decreases coverage and you have to constantly adjust it to have the most coverage on your back, despite the 2 adjustable straps. Perhaps once I experiment more with it, I'll get it right. I don't know.One big plus is the excellent quality of the Velcro straps. They are super strong and really hold the belt itself in place extremely well.

This hot and cold pack is awesome! The velcro is very strong so once you get it on it's not going to come off until you are ready to take it off!! Love the feature where the extra straps on the side pulls the cold pack right up against the back and gives you some compression! I would definitely recommend to a friend!It is well worth the money!

The double straps definitely provides excellent compression and pressure. The ice packs themselves are very big! Also love that it comes with 2 ice packs so you can switch then out. Would recommend!
