Great running shoe.
There is quite a noticeable lift in the heal with excellent cushion. They feel great on paved surfaces but not so great on grass or soft surfaces. Definitely a street/track shoe! The shoe fits well, laces up tight, making the foot feel secured. The shoe itself is light and rigid, flexing only in the areas where a foot should actually flex. The arch support is good and the mess toe upper makes your digits feel less confined and able to breathe. Its a wonderful shoe and well worth the price I paid.

Light, breathable. Would have liked just a little more support.
Under Armour's SpeedForm Fortis Running Shoes are light, supportive, and flexible. An issue with many running shoes are that in the sake of going light, they don't offer enough support or comfort. These Fortis 2.1 running shoes do a great job of being light and flexible while keep mostly comfortable. A little more support would have made the difference, though. The fit of the shoes was almost spot on. I usually wear 10.5, although some athletic or running shoes run a little narrow and I have to go a half size up. But these had a solid fit all the way around. The material is light and breathable, keeping cool during long running sessions. I really like the light feel and general comfort, but I had to knock two stars off for the lack of support/cushion at the heel. Some people can stand a thin area at the heel, but it really bugs me. I need extra cushion to stop the shoe from wearing into my heel.

Heel area is not padded
When my husband first tried these on, he was in heaven. He was really excited about the look and feel and decided to just wear them all day. They were very comfortable at the start. Unfortunately in a couple hours he called me to say they were rubbing on the back of his heel (he had socks on). It kept getting worse and worse and by the end of the day his heels were both raw. When you look at these running shoes they are different than others we have had. The heels abruptly end with no extra padding. They are also "curved in" slightly to mimic the actual shape of the foot (assuming we all have the same shaped feet). Most of our running shoes have a very "fat" padded heel that tapers out gradually and extends beyond the shoe area. I'll include a photo of these shoes vs the padded heels we are used to we are used to so you can see the difference in the heel. For us the heel is a deal breaker. We've never encountered a running shoe that didn't have that padded backing on the heel and for my husband this was just uncomfortable and left blisters on his heel. You just need to have the right shaped feet for these shoes I think. All other aspects of the shoes were fine. They are very light weight. I was surprised how much lighter they were than our other running shoes.

Amazingly light, breathes well. I find the heel uncomfortable.
I typically wear a 10.5 in an athletic shoe, and the length on this is perfect - this is a very snug shoe - fits like a glove. I have one complaint about the fit though - I have slightly large heels and wide foot front. In ski boots I need a wide, but in shoes a medium usually works. The front of the foot if perfect and I'm sure the show will stretch with use. The heel is my problem - every shoe and boot I own wears out on the inside heel first. The top of the heel on the SpeedForm has a rolled edge, I assume for strength and to eliminate an otherwise hard edge. Unfortunately this digs in to the rear of my foot. Feels like a tight shoelace around the top of my heel. I'll be wearing these quite a bit over the next couple of weeks and will edit the review after that - hopefully they stretch out a bit. I'm wearing typical summer socks - so that's not really effecting the fit.

This is a good neutral running shoe
This is a good neutral running shoe. It's close to what I'm familiar with on the Brooks Pure lineup, good cushioning while still being flexible and minimal. Normally Under Armour runs a bit small in the sizing, but these seemed pretty spot on. Would prefer some lighter colors for summer running.
