A Little Super Glue Helps
The actual metal switches upon which these knobs fit have serrations which will grip into the nylon (not hard plastic) knobs. A little super glue on the switch ensures a firm fit.

So far the knobs are working fine. It has been over a year without cracking, breaking or falling off so I guess they get a thumbs up from me.
