In the Spirit We're Equal: The Spirit, The Bible, and Women - A Revival Perspective

The truth sets you free indeed...
This is an excellent, well researched and thought out book FULL of great information. It's a lot of book so I'm still working my way through it, highlighting as I go!It's been quite freeing to finally understand why I always had an off-feeling with the "man is the head of the woman" and "women MUST SUBMIT" and "man has the final say" teaching. Like most women, I would sort of just gloss over the oppressive parts and focus on other things because it's in the bible so it must be true and accurate, right? But last Thanksgiving I was finally triggered into SEEKING THE LORD on this matter when my 84 year old father, with bulging eyes, laughed hysterically to me about a woman telling him she was a preacher and teaches men. I just looked at him, perplexed and disgusted by how FUNNY he thought this was and to be honest, I felt their was an evil spirit behind his laughing eyes. When he noticed I wasn't laughing along (which I found odd that he would expect me to) he proceeded to explain WHY it's so funny by saying, "Uh, because it's in the bible?" All I could do was snap back in annoyance, "I know it's in the bible," which frustrated me deeply. BUT NOW I have a fantastic new perspective and can read the Old and New Testament with new eyes.To learn about how and why certain translations are bias and NOT representative of the original writings has been so enlightening! Funny, when you find the truth, you know because there is a peace in your spirit and it just clicks. Suddenly everything makes sense because you are reading God's Word with a new and correct understanding of what Paul was ACTUALLY saying! Read the gospels and really take a look at how Jesus treated women in general, and how He chose to reveal Himself as Messiah to a woman FIRST and again, after His resurrection, to Mary… well, it seems to me He was going OUT OF HIS WAY to show us how equal we are in Him! The fact that people actually think women are to only preach the gospel to other women is absolutely absurd and makes ZERO sense! Jesus didn't say, "Hey, don't tell the men this awesomeness… only the girls, k?"We are indeed EQUAL IN THE SPIRIT! There's only one head on a body; we (male AND female) make up the body as God's children and Jesus is the head… So throw away that silly umbrella illustration because it's hooey!

Jesus’ truth revealed
This book was easy to comprehend and read. Backing everything up with scripture, and in consideration of the culture and original languages . It also has a free video available on YouTube to go along with the book. So much truth revealed about how in God’s family, men and women are equal across the board… equal to teach, pastor, be apostles, prophesy, and heal!

Writing women back into church history
This is a life-changing book. For too long, women have been written out of church history. I had tears in my eyes reading of the many contributions of women to the church. This book should be a textbook for courses in Bible schools and seminaries.
