Disney Mal Descendants 2 Wig, One Size

I purchased this wig for my 7 year old daughter for Halloween. She wanted to be Mal from Descendants. Upon opening the package, I was pleasantly surprised. The reviews on this are pretty terrible but all I needed was a purple wig with bangs.The wig, of course, came a little dented. IT’S A PLASTIC $10 WIG SO THIS DID NOT SHOCK ME. I immediately hung it up on a circular shaped fan so it could stay in shape.(I don’t have a wig head or anything). I turned my flat iron on the lowest possible setting (it’s plastic, remember. Not heat resistant). After about 5-10 minutes there was a significant difference. I did nothing else until Halloween night. Just kept it hanging there.When my daughter put it on, I saw a few waves in the front so I fixed them in about 30 seconds with the low flat iron setting.During trick or treating, she complained that it was a little bit hot and itchy, but she was still excited that she looked so much like Mal. It was wavy again by the end of the night, but she’s 7, was playing with it all night, so it wasn’t a big deal.At the end of the day this is a $10 wig that looks a lot like Mal’s hair in Descendants 2. If you’re older or using it for cosplay, look somewhere else. But if you have a young child who simply wants to resemble Mal for Halloween, you’d be crazy to leave a negative review for such a cheap wig.I’ve heard that people have had success with dumping very hot water on this wig. I didn’t bother and it was fine for us.I’d also like to clarify that I was actually surprised that the wig was as decent as it was. It’s not a “you get what you pay for” kind of thing. It’s actually quite nice. If money isn’t an object and you want to put in zero effort then spend the money on a higher quality wig. One of the pictures a reviewer submitted is an example of the wig straight out of the bag without brushing or straightening. It’s $10, girl.

Absolutely great. Fit perfectly on my child and she loved it. Color was spot on.

I almost didn't buy this wig based on the reviews, but glad I did. It was packaged very nicely, like it should as it is new. I did iron (on low setting) out the wave that it had from being packaged. It as strings in the back and hooks so you can tighten it. My 7yr old wore it all night, running and dancing around. It stayed in place! My 7yr old LOVED it!!

Great quality and exactly like the characters hair. This completely transformed my grand daughter and made her costume complete. I love that it has a clip on the inside to tighten. Very happy with the purchase.

Update: after brushing and using a 180 degree flat iron like another reviewer suggested, the wig looks so much better! I used a leave in conditioner spray, too. First pic was out of the bag, the second pic was after flat ironing.My daughter is thrilled with the wig, but it needs some help! Another reviewer posted a pic of a much calmer wig after flat-ironing it @ 180 degrees. I haven’t gotten around to doing that, I’ll post an update. At present time, it’s a hot mess. :)

I ordered this for my daughter who wanted to be Mal for Halloween. IF you order it before when you need it. Lay it out before hand so it will have time to straighten out. Other than that work great and looked good

If you work at it, it’s decent. I, like most, read many reviews before I purchased this wig for my daughter’s costume. To be honest, I gave in because there aren’t many other options for Mal wigs.Out of the bag it’s pretty bad and looks nothing like the picture. It’s hard to tell in the first photo, but the bangs are weird and buckled, the hair is fairly long, waved, and layered (none of those characteristics are similar to Mal’s hair).How to fix:After a google search, I found that pouring hot water over the wig and combing it out could make the plastic hair straight. That worked wonderfully! Then I trimmed the wig about 2 inches to make it even. After all the modifications it’s definitely usable.

it does get tangley when thrown on the ground. i haven't tried yet to smooth it back out, but imagine it won't be difficult.
