Red Heart Super Saver Yarn, 3 Pack, Retro Stripe 3 Count

I purchased this Red Heart Super Saver yarn in two colors and three-pack, each while working on a scarf and hat set for my sister, and it has been a great choice for this project. The color is bright and vibrant, exactly what I was hoping for, and it looks beautiful worked up in both the scarf and hat. I was also pleasantly surprised by how soft the yarn feels, especially after working with it for a while — it’s comfortable to handle and doesn’t feel scratchy. The yarn has held up well during stitching with no splitting issues, and the consistency throughout the skeins has been good. Having three skeins in the pack was convenient and ensured I had enough yarn to complete the full set without worrying about dye lot differences. Overall, this is a solid, affordable yarn option for projects like scarves, hats, and other wearable items. I would definitely purchase it again for future projects.

This green is a beautiful color. I have finished half of a throw using this green, a lighter green and pink. Should have gone with a paler pink but greens are gorgeous. This is the perfect yarn for Afgans. It is washable. It is also economical. I am surprised how far one skein goes. End result warm and beautiful. This yarn is easy to work. I crochet.

The colors are beautiful and as describes. The thickness is as described. This made a very soft and warm blanket. The quality was nice and was easy to use with no knots.

The color is amazing, but the yarn feels like rough wool against my skin. I found tips online for pre-washing full skeins prior to use because this seems to be common. I didn’t go to the trouble of pre-washing and drying, but I did try several methods for softening after I made sample squares. I can’t tolerate most laundry products, so my choices were limited. Soaking in a mild solution of water and liquid castile soap softened the sample better than laundering in a mesh laundry bag or soaking in a solution of borax and water. The borax method was second best, but you have to rinse it out really well. There was no color fading, but the samples washed in a mesh laundry bag in the washing machine got fuzzy and looked like they would pill easily. The sample soaked in the sink with the castile soap solution had no visible damage after washing. This yarn has a squeaky feel to it and it makes noise with the painted and plastic type crochet hooks. Stitches held their shape well and squares were thick and firm feeling, especially with certain stitches. Using a slightly larger hook than the recommended size helped. This is a great option for practicing new stitches because you can choose your favorite colors for a great price. It probably wouldn’t be comfortable for babies or children, and it would probably be better for items which won’t require laundering on a regular basis. Stitches with a slightly larger hook unravel better than stitches made with the recommended hook size. (For frogging) I’m really enjoying the pretty color while I play with it.

This is a good yarn, doesn't split or I'm not had that problem and I love the color for what I'm working with

So this may not be the softest yarn in the world, but it sure is pretty. The transitions are relatively good - there is an occasional color speck that’s off, but it looks great when put together. The yarn is easy to crochet with and every skein I’ve used, I’ve been able to pull from the center with no tangling! It is a bit stretchy, so once made, it does stretch a bit to better put on or take off. I’m currently making a bunch of matching dog sweaters and they are turning out great!

great color for fall projects

I'm an American and I live in Europe and the yarn just isn't the same. Red heart and others like it are not available here on the shelf. It's just different/better to me from what's available here.
